I almost never had more than 1 player over 30 in my squad. I hate having 30 years old right now. But this amazing new system is giving so many great juniors and so much time to train them that I just can't cope (sarcasm). And that is my point: no decent juniors, lesser time to train them, expensive players on the transfer market (mostly because some are making good money) and overall not a good environment to develop young players. Ok, sell all, promote juniors no matter what, train them, make money. Nice in Poland, you actually play against real users in the lower leagues. Here, ending up in the 3rd division is a passion killer.
You're not helping, lad, you talk about a different experience. You're contradicting yourself. Not to mention you're obsessed with me. Which is weird.
2023-11-06 20:46:13
This game is very easy, now easier than ever

says the guy with a parachute that doesn't open since the system changed (aka cannot adapt)
2023-11-06 20:49:41
What is actually weird is the fact that you actually think I'm in any way interested in your person, this is actually one of the most ridiculous things that I've seen here. There's nothing interesting about you, it's baffling how you'd come with a conclusion that someone is "obsessed" with you. Kinda delusional, but good luck with that, I'm not interested in furthering this conversation anymore, it's quite pointless.
2023-11-06 20:54:34
What is quite pointless is your advice for teams in the same situation as Fenland. And everything else you say, to be honest.
2023-11-06 23:54:42
Genuinely I could put a long post together responding to you but I am way too busy with work, house extension and children.

I did a lot in the past for the community, as Moderator and Admin before life became too busy. Most of my comments about wins and records are tongue in cheek towards Gibbage and we have mutual banter.

What have you done to help the community other than moan constantly about the age of players in other teams?

Anyway have a good night ;)

I would be intrigued to know how well you'd do if you started again. From fresh.

It's the future you know.

Years ago I suggested creating a new server Sokker 2.0 where everyone would start from zero, I think that THEN it could've given the game second life... nothing came of it unfortunately. I was basically inactive since 2015 till 2022, then new owners came and I got a bit hyped up to play again. Obviously it turned out to be more words than deeds so now I'm just training some players for fun and wouldn't be interested in starting over because I don't really see much fun in this game anymore, I stay here more for social interactions with some people I know from way back.

The principles would be the same, it would be only a matter of time spent on the game to increase the available budget, particularly transfers (even not the amount of trades made, but looking for low price opportunities because of limited budget). We actually had a team in Poland that started playing [old user] in May 2018 and reached Ekstraklasa in 2022, so 3.5 years, without massive trading etc and he was able to play for around 80 rating. It's very doable, I even think there was one guy who reached Ekstraklasa after 2.5 years, but he was a crazy trader.

But judging by the market I think it's possible to very comfortably (without trading all the time) make a stable 2m euro profit on each training spot each season, so around 20m euro profit on training each season. The longest part obviously would be to reach that sweet spot where you already play at around 60, have a decent stadium and have enough cash to invest in 10 decent trainees. Although it's not that hard now because there are many decent 33+ players that go for peanuts - that's how my team is built since a couple of seasons.

Well that was very inciteful but I think its time to cool it Gentleman.

I do actually take my hat of to Aluminium/Gibbage because he did start again and he is well on the way to wining a prem with two teams so I must say I would listen to him over Borkos who has only been mothballing.

I have the greatest respect for all the players covered in this thread. Yes WDP does has a way with words sometimes and sometimes its funny and sometimes its not, like everyone really. SSJS (Fenland) yes he has done well with older players and yes its a shock being relegated and he has been a bit of a yo-yo club like me in the past but the restrictions on cash has hit him harder because he does not train to sell. Actually I train but I don`t tend to sell my players either unless I have better. Mmy best players stay with me till I sack them 35+ aged. Conte and Somerset who I had some tough battles with in the past have added to the convo and I appreciate them and where they are coming from too.

Not sure about that Irish chap Anotos I don`t rate him in anything like the same league as Aligator or Piotr but he was not around long ether so perhaps thats where my thoughts come from. JensenE I have a lot of respct for. He crunches the numbers and things are very black and white for him so I can understand where he is coming from and Borkos suggests that training to sell is a valid stratgey and then fill the ranks with older players and that is what happens to say clubs like brighton in real life. Nothis was mentioned too and yes he exploits the game for his amusement, probably no worse than others though and he does promote training UK sides be they Scottish or English.

I would like to rmind everyone that how they play the game is fine (no cheating obvs) and I think what should come out of this discussion is an improvement to our national teams. Perhaps those clubs who can barely afford a junior school could have one and help to feed the bigger clubs with better playes a bit like what happened earlier with Piotr bidding three million. It would be interesting to hear doughnut jimmy and Jotun`s thoughts if they are still around as they have also tried to use only english players in the past. It might be more possible now with a little more critical mass.

So its time for us to try to help clubs with little funds but running junior schools to provide better players for the national team, something community orientated must be possible,

Truffs, if your post could summarize these previous remarks, I would greatly appreciate it. Personally, I'm not overly concerned about my club anymore. Of course, it is my tool to achieve our goal of building a society that supports the England national team. I don't want to impose my approach on anyone, but based on my experience, playing only with senior players won't lead to success. Without training young talents and giving them a real chance to play, a club's overall quality won't improve significantly. It's clear that some people are afraid to make a harsh assessment of their actions, but if you still have potential for selling players, you should use it as future capital to build a better team. I know it's easy for me to say this when I have a huge sum in my account and can do whatever I want, but I still want to convince you to follow the path of training with the budget you have, as it will be better. From my side, I can support you financially by buying your players, but, of course, I can't make decisions that would violate the rules. In general, I want us to start thinking like England and not just as individual clubs.

Dave Humphreys, age: 20, height: 180 cm
value: 199 800 £, wage: 1 635 £
club: RTS Widzew Łódz, country: England
unearthly form, outstanding tactical discipline

weak stamina, tragic keeper
outstanding pace, excellent defender
adequate technique, good playmaker
very good passing, adequate striker

Dave Humphreys was acquired for £34,000, and today, I think I could easily sell him for £1,500,000. The profit is clearly visible. I'll continue training him, which should increase his value further. In general, I've spent nearly £18 million on training the entire team. Training this way for three seasons, I believe the club's value can triple. Additionally, with this team, I'll be increasing its strength each season.

I'm not even going to pretend I'm on the same wave with you, Piotr. You're very focused on the NT. But I have been indirectly walking a common path with you as a supporter of the English leagues, rather than the NT. And I could see the decay of the English leagues with more and more teams averaging a very high age. Teams like Fenland and Univ Craiova, playing in the Premier but bringing no real value to the game or the league. Fenland is a strange case, looks like at some point they trained and developed players into some amazing ones. And then nothing. As I mentioned above, totally ignoring the trainable players in their squad right now.
I'm far for being the model to follow. But I'm not cheating the game and the leagues I'm playing in. I brought players in for peanuts and trained them since I started. I'm doing an awful job. I have no great players and no money. But I am loving the game. And I am being honest to the game. Users that come on here and talk about making money, lots of money but yet playing in lower leagues in Poland, with an average age for their squad over 30 and rating of 50, they don't impress me much. It's not how I want to play this game. And it's not how the game should be played. They hyped the market and made it so much harder for everyone else. And for what? For midtable in a lower league? For a crack at top level for a couple of seasons? I said it before, they are parasytes. But they think they're some sort of gods of the game. Sokker 2.0 :))) Imagine playing in a game managed by borkos. Orwellian. He doesn't talk about the poor state of the junior schools, the main problem this game is facing right now. He only talks about what he loves about this game. Money and the respect he has for those who make the money. In other words, for those who ruined this game and drove it to the poor state that it is now. Fenland and Univ Craiova are now at the end that borkos cycle. More teams will be in the same sitution soon. The English leagues will only have a handful of teams that gathered huge amounts of money and will manage to excell. In the end, they will be sucked in by the other poor teams and drop their levels too. And the English leagues will be weaker, amongst the weakest in the game. We're already at the bottom if you compare number of users with other countries.

The GK borkos is mentioning in his comments about me was bought for 1.9mil by the way, his value was 1.7mil, it's 2.3 mil now. He trained very well:
technique +2
striker +2
pace +3 (brilliant)
passing +2
playmaker +2
defender +1
keeper +1 (superdivine)
and he is now playing for his NT. He's 24.
I could probably sell him for 3+ mil. But I won't do it right now.
I know I'm not doing an amazing job. But I love what I'm doing.

JensenElla, I don't have much time to elaborate right now as I'm at work, but I just wanted to express my hope that the English soccer community can come together. Let's manage our clubs in a way that benefits the national team. I'm not trying to teach anyone anything, but I know from experience that training young players is worth it. In the example I provided, I wanted to show that you don't need a superstar player to make a profit. Let's stop arguing and start supporting each other.

kind regards Piotr

The breakdown I did about my relegation to Div 2 and how it went it was meant to help other teams (like Fenland) in the same situation. It's a new system and there's so many yet unknown circumstances that teams could go through. I thought that nothing can beat an actual experience. And as it shows, it would've been helpful for other teams with similar experience.
I am known for not agreeing with teams holding on to old players to some extreme levels (aka not even playing their young ones in easy games or sometimes not even in fiendlies) and again, it proves that I had a valid point.
Oh, well, I am also known for expressing my disgust to another user who manipulated the results just out of spite. I think everyone else should be calling the cheater out, not just me.
Instead, senior users in our leagues decided that a guy from a different league talking about how to manipulate the market and make money (literally what he is doing) is more helpful to our community. And that I'm just a random guy who should shut up.
Obviously, each to their own, I'm not saying I am right. Users can choose how they want to play the game the best way it suits them. I'm only here to point out the failures of strategies that push the market prices up. Failures that affects all of us, including those who initially benefit from those strategies. And I strongly believe that that is not how the game was designed to be played. Or not played, in nothis' case.

Just popping by...not sure i understand all the borkos bashing. Borkos is a very experienced and talented user, and knows the game inside out who has very good advice.

Listen to it or not, that's up to you. But let's all just be kind to one another.

As for the game itself, because i've mostly refused to buy my own trainees, as i wanted a challenge to feed my whole squad with my own youth pulls, i've really struggled. This is compounded by the fact that i don't always efficiently change my squad between friendlies and official matches, alongside with training older players.

The only player i have worth any many is a keeper i bought for very cheap who is now divine. I only have £80k in the bank and will have to sell him.

There is no way to survive on just your own trainees with decent coaches down in III, without getting luck in your own youth school.

As has been said by others, the best way to succeed is to buy old and sell young. You could buy a decent older first 11 outside of training age, and have 11 top trainees, and you fund first 11 replacements by selling your talented youngsters at the right time.

Like many, i lost patience with the game many moons ago, for me personally, it mostly started with the change in youth schools. Yes, it was annoying to pull that magical youth with unknown age and he comes out at max age(!) but now you know the age, the fun and surprise is less, plus there is literally no point keeping anybody in the school that at 18. You're just clicking buttons for the sake of it.

Bye!
