Is Messi really better than Ronaldo? I would say that they are at same level.

Mmm, yes, you are right Messi now best football player in the world. But it doesn't mean he should alaways win every single tittle for a player (like Ballon d'Or).

The Ballon d'Or is about personal achievement ( Messi), general achievement ( Casillas, Iniesta, Pirlo..) and apart is personal feelings of those who voted.

It's not only how good or important other players have been for their respective teams.. :)

I will not talk anymore about season 2009/2010 or previous seasons. I'm only talking about this season.
As I said, Messi has personal achievement but what about general achievement? Meh..

Ronaldo, I'm pretty sure he is between personal achievement and general achievement. He has won La Liga, Spain Super Cup and Euro 2012? Almost him brought the Portugal team to the semi-finals himself(They won 3 place then). And please do not say,you can not see his tireless effort even though he is in the top. His only problem is that people always compare him to Messi. How do you feel when people always compare you with someone whether it is too vain? He is living with criticism, comparing, defamation everyday. Not only but many people also hate him for being himself.

I'm not fan either Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. I'm fan of football, so do not think I'm crazy because of Ronaldo. This is just what I think is right and need to speak. :)

The fact that players can vote too, they are the captain of national teams ;)

I think it's debatable.
Ronaldo could actually be the better player if he was able to make use of his physical gifts. He is a freak of nature if you want to put it like this.
However, Messi seems to make the most of it and I prefer him over Ronaldo any day.

Ronaldo for sure had some inborn physical potential, like M. Phelps, but did he not develop it by himself?

Of course he did. He would never be where he is without a huge amount of training.
I just think his physical potential is greater than for example Messi's.

I'd say that, for a Premier League team, Ronaldo would be far better, he has the experience and physically is more dominant, Messi, although he'd still tear teams apart with his trickery, wouldn't be able to cope with the physicality of the PL. The Bundesliga, however, I'm not completely sure, I'd have to see more of the BL to decide what style of League it is. Serie A I'd go for Messi, although Ronaldo would suit the stereotypically higher diving in Italy (only joking), he would suit the style of attacking play more and is a lot more of a team player than Ronaldo is. La Liga, Messi's proved to be better in my opinion, but he suits the League more again I feel.

So far, I have it as 2-1 Messi.

THE BALLON D´OR is not for the player who scores more or wins more... the ballon d´or is for that player that is considered THE BEST OF THE SEASON.
