Subpage under development, new version coming soon!

Onderwerp: NEWS Sokker- big changes are coming!

2020-05-07 10:29:04
My general idea draft:
check oSokker extension, and add features that it alread contains. Im sure the developer would agree to add his code directly into sokker code and let us calculate junior talents, and so.

That will be absolutely perfect :)

I agree, Sokker shouldn't try to compete with games that have several matches a week. I think it's is a great game in principle, but sketchily implemented in many areas (in particular match engine, youth system and competitiveness of leagues) and suffering from years without development. It doesn't need radical changes, but small improvements to many details. However the plan seems to be exactly the opposite - make radical changes to key parts like competition structures and training system, while not bothering with details much. I understand you can't please everyone, but this feels more and more like an attempt to attract new users even at the cost of making many existing users unhappy.

We haven't seen the final 2 proposals for the calendar, the new league/competition system and season length, we haven't seen any part of the new user interface etc., we don't know exactly many details, but we are involved into the discussion, into the development direct. Which is already a very big difference compared to the past. And there are now proposals which seems radical, but they aren't really. So I think it's not the time yet to be sceptic and disappointed. It's too early for this.

But, of course, everyone has a different point of view.

Very interesting. Because although it has obviously occurred, the "General Info" section has not changed the number of teams in the game

Yes, its still remember old teams, no idea. why.
But most of abandoned divisions are deleted, and some lapsed users from them promoted higher.

its number of leagues*8 +2. And not matching also in all cases

Brasil is very interesting 4778, 75 leagues.
Romania and Italy same number of leagues, different number of clubs 2730/6826

yep, it's still counting old, deleted teams. should be fixed someday, but for now it's more important that we have as many leagues as we should.

Yup, it will update at some stage haha.

@raul all good for cleaning good job! Just keep in mind that you need space for new users with news for development and all if teams staring to return you need space for them other wise they may have to wait a whole season to join.. i assume there is no option to add extra group in middle of the season
2020-05-14 15:31:44
I haven't gone through country by country, but the few I have, there still seems like there are a LOT of extra teams.
Like look at poland, they could easily make that last division 512 leagues rather than 1024. Many 3rd divisions in countries could be banished, or halved (like even in Aus, we have 16 users. No matter how good the improvements are, I don't think we will triple our number of users in one season).
Poland, have almost 8000 extra spaces, that isn't going to happen in a season.

So I think they have been quite cautious at this stage. I feel that a lot of server space and computing power is wasted on so many bot teams (training, matches, form updates etc.) but because I don't develop games, what happens on the team side may actually use up very little of this, with most of the power being behind the scenes stuff that would need to be there regardless of if we had 100 teams or 100,000 teams, I just don't know.

If there are any countries you are worried about them cutting too find, I'm sure they would make it a top priority to get another division in for the exact reason you said. I know a number of people in the past who just didn't play because they either had to wait for a team, or wait to be approved
