I thought the point was clear. It's absolutely stupid playing youth games when you can't even see your own players.
2024-09-28 20:58:35
That won't change the fact that playing youth games will still be stupid since you have no impact on the players and you just play what you randomly get. Also the level of youth games is so terrible that it makes no sense to manage it.

You really give me a headache sometimes.

It's true what Borkos says, players receive the distribution upon entry (I remember seeing their rating grow game by game too)
And I'm inclined to believe it works like Kryminator says (random pops on skills)

We need GT mode, equivalent to all skills (the player enters with x distribution - he trains GT for all skills week by week)

If it doesn't change anything, then what harm would it do to gradually play the skills free? It would certainly make the youth more interesting! Also, as a manager, you can see if he would fit into your team or not, making place for him when he would exit the school or not making place if he doesn't fit into your recent plans. The managing part in this game is too much dependend on coincidences and random factors that the only times you need to manage things is when one of those factors falls on your team.
Managing is imo mostly dealt with planning. And that is impossible in this game.

you can do many things

you can make youth talent visible

heck, you can make every talent visible

you can even make the skills fully visible (so solid.48 or excellent.27 etc.)

you can make many things in this game, question is:

a. is it worth making it (every chance costs and takes times from programmers)
b. is it good for the game
2024-09-29 16:35:28
You can ask the same question about the last changes over the years...
Heck...is it worth to change anything about the game?
Why do developers exist? To not change things?

When you have limited resources (time&money) you have to concentrate on important things, not on things that you argument by saying "what harm would it be to do it"
2024-09-29 17:52:50
you have to concentrate on important things

You mean, like the retirement of coaches who became 130 years and older?
2024-09-29 17:55:33
I never said that was a good / needed change, did I?

Problem is that their motivation was not to kill the coaches, but to create a drain for money from the market and that's why they did it

For THEM yes, it was important because they want to drain money out of the game

When big ideas are suggested you say they're too big for the devs to implement

When small ideas are suggested you say they're too small to matter

This is why nothing gets done in this game. There are a hundred small ideas that would be nothing on their own, but combined they'd be a huge improvement in making this game more attractive.

A developper should always look for the best way to attract people to a game and maintain their interest. Unwanted, unpopular changes won't make a game better. I also never said it is not necessary, but imo the priorities are completely wrong. And changes like gradual showing skills of youth players will certainly be
1) popular
2) wanted
3) maintain interest for lots of managers to keep youth teams
4) bring a meaning to the youth matches (even if it brings nothing extra)
5) not a mountain of work for devs to implement

So I recon it won't be so bad to do, right? But we can question anything, bring it down, praise it into heaven...but in the end, the devs (and / or owners) will decide what to do.
The only thing we can do is give them the information on what we like to see changed and what not... It's their job to do something with that info or not.

We have a situation with the U21 team in India where the only two active users voted for the previous coach, but two others voted against him. In the first match, he didn't utilize an existing tactic—likely an oversight. He hasn't responded to any emails, and it's been a while since we've seen four votes in total.

Could an admin please look into this? The national team is very important to the two active users, and they are frustrated with the outcome. All their efforts to train young players seem to be in vain. If everything was done according to the rules, the users will have to wait until the end of the season. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

When big ideas are suggested you say they're too big for the devs to implement

well that's true, very big ideas that include engine or multiple changes in the game structure won't happen because it would take them 10+ years to write and implement them

When small ideas are suggested you say they're too small to matter

I have no problem with small changes that make a real difference

showing youth skills doesn't make a difference - you have no way on improving them anyway, the match engine is not made for terrible youth league level, you have like 1% impact on how your youth school functions. only impact it would have would be that you would know sooner that you have a good future youth or that you should kick the youth out of ys. Do you have problems with too many possible good youth players in ys and you don't have free space? because I have a problem with having 11 that make any sense so I don't drop out of youth school.

This is why nothing gets done in this game.

Nothing gets done because they don't have money anymore and even small changes take them a lot of time. There's nothing more to it.

A developper should always look for the best way to attract people to a game and maintain their interest. Unwanted, unpopular changes won't make a game better.

That's all great and I agree, but I'm not the one that owns the game and decisions. I told you why they wanted to do it.

I wrote Raul many times that they are doing only negative changes in the game and that won't bring new users while it will also make older users angry or less interested. It doesn't matter though because that's their idea of developing the games, so when considering ideas you have to look at them from their perspective.

Now they are planning changes in the youth school. Good direction. Will they fix the problems? In my opinion no, they will probably for example make the talent more "normal", so less terrible talents but also less top talents. In short they will probably fuck it up even more and then they will be happy that there are less great players.
