Hahaha they can't make working World Cup qualifications standings, the elections don't start on time, there are bugs in training, they still haven't finished the new layout and it's now 50/50 old and new one
and people want them to add new international competitions and make changes in the match engine XD

years ago there were bugs with players kicking the ball to own goal from centre of pitch when starting the game

Anybody knows which is the criterion used to match teams that promote directly to a higher division with those that relegate directly from that division?

it's not random, it's team id, but it is a bug, should be like with playoffs
Might be league position and then team id, don't remember exactly
If I remember you said it was already fixed in development env. Im just curious what devs says about that its not working here...
I assumed it was and it probably was indeed, but it might not have been deployed here.
Anyway, if I really wrote as You say, then it was probably my conclusion based on messages on devs bugtracker. I still think I was right if only dev env was mentioned.
