From DD #71

You may notice that the increase in players' salaries, depending on the league level, is in the range of 15% to 33% which should translate into an increase in overall running costs of a few to a dozen percent.

Why should it function in this way?

Aren't wages/salaries based on players' skills?
What happens when a player is sold to a team in different tier team - would his wage/salary change accordingly and why not?

I think it is done that way. Just the % increase is an example on how it affects average team in each of polish divisions so you could check how your teams average salary matches up and what you should expect.

For example I'm totally expecting at least 40% increase in wages for me and this change very likely marks an end to top tier teams (meaning 80+) in small countries as wages will become unsustainable here.

It could be interpreted both ways. Let's wait for a clarification..

On Friday.

I think it's increase of player wages only (I think they slightly changed algorithm for player wages calculation) but that will result in 15%-33% increase in overall running costs depending (more or less) on league (in reality probably depending on how much You currently spent on players wages, how much on gk wages)

I don't think that after that change the player sold from top league to bottom league will have his wage reduced. I expect it staying the same.

CLARIFICATION

A player's salary is his personal characteristic, solely dependent on his skills.
In the same way, a player's salary increase is purely related to his skills - the higher, the higher the increase.
Since there are more players with high skills in the higher leagues, the average increase is highest there.
Every player will have the same salary regardless of which league he plays in.

The fact that the average height in the top division in Poland is calculated at 33% does not mean that this will also be the case in other countries.
In every country, at every level, in every team, the increase will be due strictly to the player's personal salary increases related only to his personal skills.

Thanks for the clarification strus.
It was ambiguous and could be interpreted in different ways.

If you are talking about value...I can relate to that, but salary is only adjusted once each season so I think it's only accurate in the first week of the season.
I read somewhere there were thoughts of wage to increase on weekly base, with the weekly economic update. Is this still on the to do list?

Thanks for clarifying. Nice improvements of the game.

However, at the same time I think this is a missed opportunity. It would be fair if bigger leagues pay higher salaries to the players in their teams, despite the same qualities. This is also the case in real life. Bigger teams are more capable of paying higher salaries. Also if sokker would have implemented these rules; you would actually close the gap between the leagues; as it becomes 'cheaper' for the lower divisions to get top players --> Making the game more competitive amongst leagues.

In return; I would also find it more realistic that top leagues are getting significant more income on tickets; giving the top teams a way to offset the higher salaries they have to pay for the players.

Overall I am really happy about what sokker announced; especially all the initiatives to close the gap between the leagues and to stop inflation of the in-game money.
