In your case after observing only stats after match, your best striker played as DEF which makes him act stupidly, your second striker for sure was there just for experience. Your opponent had good tactics and balanced team against your stronger team. To me i wouldn't be that suprised about the result.
1 Wolrd class striker and 1 Wing agains a DEF line of 4 or even 5 + pretty strong MID in 4-4-2 formation.

However, sometimes yes, there are games when Strikers even when they just have to push the ball to the goals they shoot it 180 degree angle somewhere near corner post XD Doesn't make any sense indeed

Striker with DEF or even sometimes MID order indeed can act very badly but it has no impact on scoring… so if the striker gets many chances it’s pointless what order he has and is not an excuse for a weird/unfair result
