The problem was that Woody was not liked/supported by polish community. Hence why he did not had access to some dB created by others who were scouts by previous coaches. TBH i do not care if Woody lost in semi finals. He bring us a medal, something that previous coach didnt done. Biggest regret is that he did not win gold. BUT. I believe in next WC he will be in final.
There is a lot of dissatisfaction in Polish community. There is a lot of tactical dissapointemnt. But none of those ppl were trying to get this position. Once those ppl will start as an candidates for some NT AND will get some results that will foreshadow Woody's achievements I will be the one to create praising topic for that coach:) But as for now I'll praise Woody's achievements:) cheers :)

in a game full of random reaching semifinal is a good achievement no matter what squad you are leading!
behaviour of woody in forums is another thing i do not want to comment that.

PS: not sharing NTDB with current coaches is unforgivable thing for me so such scouts and ex managers should not be elected ever again...

In national team issues, i think that it´s difficult to manage your own country National team.
Many communities dont understand HOW INGRATEFULL is to manage that.
Many hours , many messages, Searching players, write their skills pop ups.
Then "know" the rival strategy, make a tactic that fits your opponent

So, my experience is this:

Managing other National team is "Easier"...
Managing your own country NT involves other things... Other level of discussion.

But, also it´s the most gratifying, if your do well

It's definitely much easier to lead a 'foreign' national team

Top five or top 10 NT could get to win or loose between them.
If in THAT Particular game you dont have half a team, for many posible things, you have almost no chance against a little lower ranking but similar skills and all theirs startups, in good form.

So many variables...

Fail is always arbitrary, but for example if the objective or what you promised was to win World Cup and you get eiliminated in group then that's a failure...

Ok... after some days I will answer some things that people talk here about me and some things I read here...

First, before I answer something about what you talk, I know we will never will finish a discussion since we have different ideas and you will continue using the ''straw man fallacy'' if something we answer is not what you want talking that ''we do not understand or that we do not reading well''.

You have a idea about tactics, that exist something near perfect in formations that need to be made it and etc, I have a different idea... when you ask about how many times i played with a tactic that just focus in play vertically, that's do not make sense for me because I am the type of coach that prefer to have several ways to attack against my opponent, for me this idea of perfect formations, that just one thing works is nonsense to me, of course you will talk: ''If you think that why you use just 2 formations?'', and my answer is simple, 2 formations but my focus was in certain positioning changes in specific areas and in the depth of lines... the way I play will depend of how is my squad and about how my opponent play. You talk about I be easy to be read just because I use the same formation and forget that same formation do not mean same positioning in certain areas, same depth of lines and so on, I used 2 formations but they had positioning changes in every match.

if you play same way every time like you did, then the opponent knows how you will play...that's all

Your '1' U21WC that you won for me have same importance as the U21WC won by westbrom in Finland, same importance as the U21WC won by roham in Hungary... To be champion you had to play against several opponents and reach the final, that's not easy to do regardless of the country you are the coach.

Poland could have usually the best squads or a top 3 squad in a U21WC, but that do not makes things easy since exist things like pressure to make results.

Also, the 2 U21WC by Ostulc, I will tell you a little secret, he won using the same formation too...

So probably he is easy to read because he used the same formations... are I and other opponents (tsolias, DP, roham, G11, Karsten) so stupid that we don't realize this?

When I choose to play with a 4-2-3-1 against Bosnia and the team play well, score a goal, your argument was bad about the formation just because you do not like it the concept and because we scored more goals with the 4-3-3.

My friends in this game know for example that I never liked it watch teams playing with a vertical 5-3-2 because for me became the ''tactic of the lazy''.

But when cristidinu won the U21WC against Czech Republic using the 5-3-2, I was amazed at the way he used it.

If I had a mindset similar to yours that only 1 thing works, I would never realize the genius that was cristidinu's game plan to win that U21WC.

Same when Alienomo reach the U21WC with Cuba using also a different formation.

In 10 minutes I found only 10 top form players that probably would have a chance to make the first eleven/first sub in u21 NT...and some look like 100% sure first teamers, both GKs are definitely better than the one on the bench and one in the first squad...same goes for strikers...

About my scout skills, was not just 1 time that I recieved the messages that I reach the limit of sk-mails for one day for sending so many sk-mails asking for skills.



My mail in Sokker be with a lot of messages from users sending skills that I asked and also losing about 2, 3 hour sending messages, (often at 3, 4 am here in Brazil to make my day easier afterwards) happened a lot of times... and I do it alone, without the help of anyone.

I spent hours watching players on sokker-manager.net, looking what position they play in his clubs and when was not a bad keeper, sending messages asking for skills, training pland and etc...

I have failed more times than I have succeeded, and I sometimes feel bad about not being able to live up to the expectations that were created around me in a specific community...

I was very sad when I couldn't make Switzerland world champion, although reaching the final was a great achievement, for me it wasn't enough, that's why when Redex do not continue for U21WC, I accept the role trying to make that happen but I lose to Ostulc in eightfinals, was probably one of moments that I cry a lot for losing a match because was something I want to bring for the swiss community...

I will be honest, I like a lot Michele, but in that final (Montenegro vs Switzerland), I support Switzerland since I think that community deserves a title, is a small community but have a lot of great guys that try to help the NT.

You create a love for the people of that community and they fight together with you in search of that, regardless of discussions I had with one or another person, this is normal because we are human, but I am very happy to have had the opportunity to socialize and make friends with people from other countries in this game because of being U21 coach in different countries.

Of course coach your own country is different, but when you love make that... you create a love and passion even when you are a coach in other country, I think other people feel the same.

2 U21WC I have with Brazil, I have weak squads due to lack of a good generation, low form and also because of lack of experience (specially the 1st U21WC I was with Brazil), For me, no matter who the coach is, I would be very happy if we can win a World Cup... About being supported, was about 60/40 i guess? But I have access to NTDB and for tools such as sokker-manager.net and also a tool make by my friend Mikoos, the only difference was that our database was empty like my wallet in the end of the month, but now have a lot of players and the next coach if I do not continue... will have a database fully of players to know well how options could be used... A pity some users do not accept send skills for me... but is okay...

Anyway, thanks for the compliment... you do not know how good is read this because this U21WC was very stressful and my levels of anxiety probably was more than 8000...

Specially because of the hour of the matches, the change made the games to be at 6, 7am in Brazil, so the anxiety was so much that I couldn't sleep. I was only able to sleep well and wake up satisfied now that the competition is over to give you an idea.

Of course you have to change details like throw ins, height of def and off line etc. in every game lol, that's basics

What I was saying was that the formation was predictable because you used same 2 tactics (in formation and general sense) and that's a bad idea imo
