Rap hasn't ruined music - it has made it so much richer. The problem is that people who don't listen to rap music usually search in the gangsta rap genre (think Chamillionaire, G-unit and the like) to get their prejudices confirmed, while there is so much more to the rap genre.

If you just don't like the style overall... well that's your choice... but no need to claim that rap has ruined music - of course it hasn't. It sounds like the way people said when rock music grew big. There are also music genres I personally dislike, but that's just life.
