AirAsia QZ8501: Indonesia plane 'at bottom of sea'
Members of the Singapore air force have been involved in the search
The missing AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ8501 is likely to be at the bottom of the sea, the head of Indonesia's search-and-rescue agency has said.
Bambang Soelistyo said the hypothesis was based on the co-ordinates of the plane when contact with it was lost.
The search is continuing for the aircraft, a day after it disappeared with 162 people on board, but no trace has been found so far.
The Airbus A320-200 was on a flight to Singapore.

Japan's newest island still increasing in size
Authorities in Japan say a new island near Tokyo has grown more than 10 times in size since emerging during an underwater eruption in November 2013.
Researchers say Nishinoshima is now almost 2.3 sq km - and is estimated to rise about 110m above sea level.
The Japanese coast guard says red magma is still visible at the bottom of the crater and are advising ships to avoid the area.
James Coomarasamy reports.

Sony cyber-attack: North Korea faces new US sanctions
The White House said the cyber-attack was an attempt by North Korea to restrict free expression
The US has imposed new sanctions on North Korea in response to a cyber-attack against Sony Pictures Entertainment.
President Barack Obama signed an executive order on Friday allowing sanctions on three North Korean organisations and 10 individuals.
The White House said the move was a response to North Korea's "provocative, destabilising, and repressive actions".
US sanctions are already in place over North Korea's nuclear programme.
But Friday's actions are believed to be the first time the US has moved to punish any country for cyber-attacks on a US company.

'the first time the US has moved to punish any country for cyber-attacks on a US company' ... Is this going to be the standard from now on, punishing countries for hackers who could have acted completely on their own? What happens when some Dutch hackers attack the criminals of Goldman Sachs for example :/

Maybe, it would be more interesting to read news that are not in headlines of domestic newspapers...

Well, that really depends of how good they have done their job. There is a lot of crap around and I'm really not interested in some 'news' article written by some self-taught 'journalist' who wants to propagate opinions, I can form my own opinions.
