Onderwerp: Football Strategy - Brand New Manager Game

2013-03-09 16:12:34
That day beta is started.

So at first 'we' play and look for bugs and things that could or should be improved. Do not know how much time that will take.

Would like to give it a try as well, but I'll be leaving on holidays the 31st of march and will hardly be online for 2 weeks. I presume it doesn't make sense then

why not? the beta tests might take months and even though it will be resetted, it still makes sense to get used with the basics of the game to know what to do when it's officially started for real :)

And i would not leave the change to be a firstday user :D ;)

I thought I read somewhere they were planning to have a beta test of three weeks (or more if necessary).
Looks almost impossible to me... so i am curious if you could find that back.

For good betatesting and bughunting you realy need more time, especialy if you work with 'simply registered testers' because they think often that things they do not like are also bugs ;)
I'll search for it, but I could have simply dreamed it :p

Three weeks is definitely not enough, I'd assume that you'd need a couple of weeks work to fix all the spotted bugs...
2013-03-09 17:05:22
I can't find it, and I can't even imagine where I would have read it, but I'm still convinced I read it :p
2013-03-09 17:27:27
Well...you're sort of convinced of many non-existant things...

;)

I'm totally nuts :-)

As Borkos suggested, Beta can take several months. We don't know exactly when the game would be ready until at least a full first season is tested, at that point we should have enough data to figure it out. Most likely we are looking at around two or three seasons.

[FS] will also offer actual cash & prizes for top league and Cup winners, but I don't want to get into specifics about this aspect yet.

I was mildly interested, but I am no longer.

I'm not interested in playing months 'for nothing'. I'm willing to give it a try when testing is done and the game starts all over again.
@ Levitate

I understand your point of view and obviously respect it, but we are confident enough that whenever you decide to give the game a try you will get hook no matter if it's in Beta or not. We will value all feedback received from testing, therefore, if you want the game to succeed and have the content offered towards your liking, it is essential to participate. The last thing we want is to rush out a game and have game-breaker issues down the road. You might think that because there are many football manager games on the web its easy to just replicate or not require much testing if at all but this is not your regular game and you will see why at the end of the month.
I understand that testing is very necessary, because there is nothing more annoying than a game with bugs that don't get fixed (oh Sokker...). I'm just saying I'm only interested when the game is started for real ;-)
