It is indeed different and not boring at all :) Maybe something to remember for the Tour organization when planning the stages. Clearly it doesn't have to be a boring flat stage that will definitely end with a sprint.

Stage 4, Seraing to Cambrai, 223.5 km
Cobblestones; loved by some, hated by the rest of the pack. But no rider can avoid them during stage 4. The 221 kilometres stage between Cambrai and Seraing is the longest of the Tour de France 2015. And with seven cobbled sections in prospect it certainly is not the easiest.
Under the smoke of Liège lies the industrial town of Seraing. Familiar to most cycling fans since the place hosted the Tour de France three times, with Miguel Indurain (1995), Erik Zabel (2001) and Peter Sagan (2012) being the victors.
Never before the Tour de France finished in Cambrai, but it was twice the town saw a start. In 2004 José Luis Rubiera won the stage to Arras and in 2010 Alessandro Petacchi outsprinted his colleagues in Reims after he started pedaling that morning in Cambrai.

this year the tour has a new stage maker , it's defintly better than 5-10 years ago ,
but this year he made 1 big mistake
THe Team time Trial is on stage 9, that's just to far
Like for Mollema he misses Cancellara in his TTT train now and he is gone now..

And this is the first time the Tour de France will use the sensors in real time. (Location, direct speed, stats after the race thanks to all the data during the races etc).
It will be very interesting for the spectators.
Today I noticed for the first time some data in the left corner of my tv screen during the climb of the Mur de Huy, the speed from Froome and Rodriguez, if I remember correctly.
This data is indeed a great extra addition for the spectators. Most cycling fans will love this extra data.

Cancellara out of Tour de France with fractured vertebrae
Only a day after claiming the yellow jersey in a dramatic sprint finish, Fabian Cancellara was forced to withdraw from the Tour de France on Monday, wracked by two fractured vertebrae.
The Trek Factory Racing leader was caught in a traumatic crash during stage 3 of the Tour and was flung to the side of the road. Try as he might, the Swiss powerhouse could not stay with the field as the pace wound up ahead of the finish up the Mur de Huy, where Joaquím Rodríguez (Katusha) won the day.
Cancellara finished 11:43 behind Rodríguez, clearly in pain.

What a day! The cobblestones are great :D And how those cyclists look after the stage, dirt everywhere.
A few more of these 'flat stage' days, with wind and cobblestones, and teams can start think about not selecting any sprinter next year :P

Great for der Tony he finally got the yellow
Bad day for the french today , Pinot and Rolland are gone with the cobbles
One more hectic flat stage to go ! :)
And the damage between the topfavorites (Froome , contador, quintana and Nibali is under 2 minutes ! )

Froome is too good at the start, he wont last til the end of mountains. Nibali seems to have poor support by team(Taaramäe going for the stage win or two some day and loses time on purpose currently but dunno about the form of others). Quintana can only hope for one getaway in the mountains, i wouldnt bet on him. And Contador is Contador, gonna win this year.

Stage 5: Arras-Amiens, 189.5 km
Stage 5 is pretty long with 189.5km with many changes of direction and a course exposed to the wind. It's a celebration of the braveness of Anglophone soldiers who lost their lives during World War I, passing near the Canadian memorial of Vimy, the British cemetery of Sailly-Saillisel, the necropolis of Rancourt, the historial of the Big War in Péronne, the South African memorial of Bois Delville in Longueval, the franco-british memorial of Thieval and the last one, the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial where the names of 10.733 Australian soldiers who died at war from 1916 to 1918 are written.
A course made for sprinters
A bunch sprint finish is highly expected in Amiens even though it'll be complicated to get the race bunched up. So far, green jersey wearer André Greipel is the only sprinter to have reached his goal. Mark Cavendish is avid for a revenge and his Etixx-Quick Step team will be fully focused on keeping the race together in order to preserve Tony Martin's yellow jersey. John Degenkolb, Peter Sagan and Alexander Kristoff are also hungry for more. Nacer Bouhanni has showed that his injuries following his crash at the French championship don't handicap him and France has a local sprinter in Brittany: Arnaud Démare hails from Beauvais, the nearby town.
