Happy anniversary?
I wish he could have a happy life. A life spent in pain.

nobody here knows who that guy is, so there's no point in such discussions

Don't be afraid of discussion. Controversy is not the bogeyman. It makes people knowledgeable.
Wrong, when i was young, he was so famous, also famous as Carl Lewis or Matt Biondi or Florence Griffith-Joyner for example. He is a total legend of this sport.

If an athlete is on the cover of Time magazine, be sure that it is a big deal. It's normal that you don't know
Well possibly you're older than me, I don't know this Biondi as well, that said I'm not really into Olympics. I think barely anyone is in to Olympic sports nowadays :p
And he might as well be a legend of THAT sport, but I don't really know any weight-lifters names.
There are legends in other weird sports, like... hammer throw. We have one guy in Poland who won some medals in throwing a hammer and regularly cries in media that he doesn't make as much money as footballers :-)

That's because it's not a cover. All the covers have a bar code, and this page does not.
It seems, though, that the October 3rd edition had a "Special section" about the Olympics. This was probably the front page of that section.
