Onderwerp: The best known Polish clubs in Your coun

2011-05-21 09:41:19
Well I know 3 Polish clubs by hart:

Wisła Kraków - Estonian currently best GK (after retired Mart Poom of course :)) Sergei Pareiko (34yo) moved there from Russian league (Tom Tomsk - 114 games) and on 8 February 2011 he joined Polish Ekstraklasa side Wisła Kraków on a one and a half year deal. He became the first choice goalkeeper and won the Polish Championship title in his debut season. This season he has played already 12 games (1080 minutes).

Lech Poznań - I know this club due to its Europa League success in this season - they won their group in front of the football giants Juventus and Manchester City and got to the knockout phase, where they lost to Braga, who has just recently lost in the final to Porto.

Korona Kielce - Estonian 23yo winger/attacking midfielder Sander Puri is on loan there from Greece club Larissa since January 2011. According to http://naszaliga.pl/klub/korona,kielce,.html he has played 7 games and scored 1 goal. (321. minutes total playing time)

By the way, today one our national newspaper wrote an article (about a rumor), that on 5.-8. July there will be one international tournament for clubs in Estonia and they say, that Wisła Kraków will take part of it. This would be awesome! This time they will have to face another Estonia club - FC Flora Tallinn. :)

(Wisla has already faced our second strongest club - FC Tallinn Levadia. Levadia made a big surprise after knocking out Polish champion Wisła Kraków in the Champions League second round with 2–1 on aggregate. (After that Levadia lost to Debreceni VSC (both games 0:1)) 2009/10)

Hopefully this tournament for 4 clubs will actually take place, but we will see. :)
