Onderwerp: Oppenents affect ratings ?

If I was to play the same starting 11 against a league II team this weekend, would I get the same ratings as I got against tonights' league IV team ?
but surely our players will have better defending/tech and will have more of the ball and so your players wont have as much freedom
*could turn this into a prem/la liga RL battle*

I'd think it possible that you'd get a higher rating against the II side.
Everybody will probably have more work to do, so might end up getting a higher rating.
It would at least work for goalkeepers if they got a low rating, like mine did today.

Depends on your players really. If you are dominated, and have little in the way of defensive ability, you will get lower marks.
If you dominate, but lack in attacking ability, then you will also get lower marks.

My main reason for asking is the average passing rating I got this evening, I used to be weak passing week in week out. Maybe if I played a couple of midfielders in defence, I might dominate more, and get them trained into the bargain.
Hmm, food for thought...

The ratings are influenced by what players have possession of the ball.
For example, if you had a formidable passer, who kept the ball for 100% of the game, I suspect you would get formidable passing rating.

So to get a divine rating you would need all 11 players be divine passers!?
you managed to reverse engineer this answer ? Or insider knowledge ?
No, I chose the answer that makes the most sense.

one thing I can guarantee is that us mods get no more information on the game engine than you.
We just make things up and sound like we know what we talk about. Gibbages divine comment is pure conjecture, but I kind of agree with him in principle, however whether a player needs to be divine to contribute his percentage of divine is unknown as obviously there is a form impact.
Oh yeah, on that thing about the fact we don't know nowt, it's true, except for stuff we add to the rules & front page. They're true. We hope...

I thought that the average ratings were averages of all the players who played for you in that match, irrespective of the amount of time they were in possession.
If that was the case, then ratings would be pretty static. Again, I point to the variance in ratings that I had in my R1 cup game, and that of the league game against forestman.
