Speaking as someone who got relegated last season, it’s no fun here either. The attendances bad and l am really having trouble balancing the books. All l can do now is sell a couple of players and then after that it will be coaches and the junior school. It is back to the bad old days for me

Makes a change, normally me who has piles of players out.
Yes I know the yo-yo feeling well!
Do you also have trouble with the fans?
Mine are never happy no matter where we play...

Yes it is a major problem as the attendances are naf and l lose money every week. Coaching is a big cost but without great coaches what is the point of having a junior school and young players in the senior squad?

Heavily in debt all of a sudden; transfer market is so flat you sell players to cut the wages, not make money. This means the junior school isn't cost effective. I am actually spending the same or less than last season but I have got stuck with a team that dominates matches without winning so the fans don't come.
I need to raise cash immediately but how?
I will have to cut a coach and the junior school, I can't afford to lose any more league games

I don't have a junior school any more; I tried twice but it doesn't work unless you have low wage coaching staff but then you get low grade senior players coming through. I am so relieved I don't have one now. I need to raise 115k a week to break even and I have four players injured including two strikers so thinning out the squad is a non starter. The game has become so unbalanced I don't know how people survive without a massive fan base, which I haven't got.

Would it help to sell my best young players, l mean the 22-23 year olds? I can’t guarantee a great transfer fee any more and l would much rather have them in the Team for the next nine or ten seasons
I haven't had these issues for a long time thankfully. What players do you have that could be sold?
Its a real shame you can't maintain a youth school, in the past that has made me money every now and then, plus with the new training system you can train every good one you get.

I agree with SSJP; I have always kept a junior school but I have never had a financial crisis like this. The quality of juniors simply isn't high enough and with the transfer market so depressed I am on a loser all of a sudden. I may not survive even if I cut costs. I don't know a way out of this crisis, I just think the changes that came in to equalise the game oncome and opportunities have hit middle ranking teams like mine far too hard. The most annoying thing is that I saw this coming and didn't react quickly enough because I wanted to keep my junior school and grow my own squad. Now I will have to scramble to survive and could end up being... well I don't know where. My best striker is off form and I have no money to get a better one but without wins the attendances are too low.
If its true for me then we will definitely see others drop their junior school and maybe more will leave the game. I am on the brink right now.

Thats really sad to read. I only see the other side of the market and the prices are still crazy, although I have seen a big drop in keeper prices of late. When I was a newer team I always used to sell trainees to survive and improve other parts of the team. The youth school used to cost me money but every now and then I would get a youth I could sell for a nice amount. I feel there should be better youths coming through, especially as England is not high in player numbers still.
Do you not think part of the problem with your side is the failure to invest in youth? Your first team is old, very old in fact. You should be looking to try and bring reserves through to the first team, older players will only ever be sticking plasters and not solve problems beyond the short term.
If you think cutting the junior school is the answer, then you are asking the wrong question.

With less time in junior squad, a decent junior now is certainly lower skilled than the ones before the shorter seasons.
Seems to only be GKs with squashed prices. Been trying to get a new defender in and been having same old problems as usual!

Chłopaki, if I were to start playing this game from scratch today, I would focus on training defenders and prioritize one skill: defender. I'd hire a coach with the highest possible interception skill and three assistants to complement the head coach. I'd forget about immediate results and concentrate solely on training. I know people who bought players for £1 and, after three seasons, sold them for £1.5-2 million. With the money earned, they built their coaching staff.
When I sold my team, I decided to focus on training young English players. Today, I have a very expensive coaching staff, but I manage to balance the budget. Once the players develop, I'll sell some of them and use the funds to buy new ones. I believe this strategy will allow me to move up to the next level.

@Swampmonster & Fenland...It's a shame for the English national side if you don't have a junior team but obviously for reasons mentioned it hasn't been financially beneficial. A few seasons back when I was in the prem, I decided to sell all my players over 25 and just invest in youth (mainly English players). I have unearthly coaches, that cost a lot but I've been able to afford them, due to sale proceeds. I've gradually started adding older, higher skilled players to compliment my youngsters, whilst also making my team a little more competitive.
I am actually far more excited about training my young talent than winning games, at this stage. Once my youngsters are stronger, I'll be concentrating on trying to win and get promoted. I think BR has a model side and plays the game the right way...
I'd personally not want to have too many old players in my squad. Their skills and value drops, also they're not really trainable. My opinion is that you only lose on these players in the long run. However, having some older players does make competitive and buying them can be a cheaper option. So I can understand why people have a few older players (30+ yo) in their teams.
Good luck with whatever you decide. Hopefully your financial situation improves.
