Just popping by...not sure i understand all the borkos bashing. Borkos is a very experienced and talented user, and knows the game inside out who has very good advice.
Listen to it or not, that's up to you. But let's all just be kind to one another.
As for the game itself, because i've mostly refused to buy my own trainees, as i wanted a challenge to feed my whole squad with my own youth pulls, i've really struggled. This is compounded by the fact that i don't always efficiently change my squad between friendlies and official matches, alongside with training older players.
The only player i have worth any many is a keeper i bought for very cheap who is now divine. I only have £80k in the bank and will have to sell him.
There is no way to survive on just your own trainees with decent coaches down in III, without getting luck in your own youth school.
As has been said by others, the best way to succeed is to buy old and sell young. You could buy a decent older first 11 outside of training age, and have 11 top trainees, and you fund first 11 replacements by selling your talented youngsters at the right time.
Like many, i lost patience with the game many moons ago, for me personally, it mostly started with the change in youth schools. Yes, it was annoying to pull that magical youth with unknown age and he comes out at max age(!) but now you know the age, the fun and surprise is less, plus there is literally no point keeping anybody in the school that at 18. You're just clicking buttons for the sake of it.
Bye!

I'm not here to judge anyone, and I hope I didn't offend anyone. I'm just standing on the sidelines, fighting for England. Everything I've written here isn't directed at any specific person; these are just my suggestions based on my experience.

Buy old and sell young, says an user who's at the bottom of the league system. You're right, borkos has very good advice. For this sort of performance.
I'd rather follow the model of Beerisnotanexcuse and Canonlygetbetter and Internazionlle. Look at their average age and how well they're doing. This is how I started. These teams will probably never be in your situation for a long long time. Buy old, sell young is a model that always fails. Especially now, with the junior schools being in such a poor state and the transfer market so hyped.
But, anyway, good luck!

I'd rather follow the model of Beerisnotanexcuse ... with the junior schools being in such a poor state
you're so fun, you talk much but with no substance
in one sentence you say that junior schools suck and you can't rely on them, in other sentence you praise the "model" of a team that plays almost solely with his youth players xD
the funniest part is that you don't even understand the model that I was talking about because you get agitated the moment you see the words "old players" and "money"
if for you achieving marks around 60 and going up and down the Prem is a good thing then kudos and have fun doing that. I was presenting a model that with time would bring teams to fight for winning the Prem. It's not about making money, it's about creating a budget for the team so you can at one point create a strong team with potential to grow even further. Which in countries like England would be very possible because with a strong team it'd be still possible to train 10 youths with 95% training [which is impossible in Poland and other strong top leagues].

Exactly. Have a strong team to keep you as high as possible league-wise so you get decent stadium ticket/sponsors money + fanclub growth, at the same time gradually increase the budget by making money on 16-21yo players.
It's pragmatic and actually can bring the user best of the experiences - on the one hand he still gets results and gets to play competitively, on the other he has fun with training young players, who pop often. And then when you get a decent budget you can go further and become more ambitious (for me there's nothing ambitious in winning a league that is too weak and then getting trashed in a league that is too strong in a loop).

Most of my comments about wins and records are tongue in cheek towards Gibbage and we have mutual banter.
Hold on a minute, aluminium is mr_gibbage? I sensed there was something fishy about him! :P

Jimmy plays two games a season. Rest of them he can win with his GK upfront. He is literally playing in the best environment for investing in coaches and buy players for £2 and play/train them. But you're advising him how to win the Premier, right?
That is exactly my point: you're not what this community needs in terms of advising.

I doubt you even read what I'm saying, nevermind processing what I'm saying. But like I said, there are plenty of opinions on here, users can decide which one is best to follow.
I don't agree with yours and I explained why and also offered an alternative. You don't agree with mines because you don't agree with me. And especially you, nothis, never come with anything constructive. But you're very good at ruining things.
Two users came on here and told us about their struggles. Try to focus on them if you want to contribute with something. Having a dig at me is not helping them. Besides, you have no real reason to have a dig at me, you're only mad because I was the only one to call you for what you are. Try to play the game by its rules and respect yourself.

I hope teams in Jimmy's situation are just as bad listeners as me. Playing in the 3rd division with old players and using the young ones just for friendlies is just daft. It's not at all 'fun' and they don't 'pop' as much as described. Not to bring you the millions that some talk about.
My advice: yes, buy/promote young players, sell/sack old players. Play the hell out of them, it's easy winning games in 3rd. Use the money you save because of their small wages to pay a couple of magical coaches. And build on.

and again showing that you don't listen, just write what you think others say...
who said anything about using them just in friendlies? I literally wrote about giving them 95%+ training weekly
that's why you need old players... because they are GOOD and cheap so you can win while still giving training to 16-17yo's
who said anything about staying in 3rd league? obviously the 2nd league in England is at such level that's it's easily possible to stay there and train properly, unless someone has a fresh/financially troubled team
It's not at all 'fun' and they don't 'pop' as much as described.
yeah, sure they don't pop as much...
Not to bring you the millions that some talk about.
You have no idea what you are talking about because you never trained properly good prospects and that's why you don't understand how this model works. It's the best possible model in this game that works at every level in every country, you just have to scale it properly according to budget, sponsors and league level. There are teams from very small countries like Latvia who use this model and created teams playing for 80+, challenging in Champions Cup.
My advice: yes, buy/promote young players, sell/sack old players. Play the hell out of them
terrible advice
a. you only need 10 young players for training - and I mean young by 16-18, not "your young" 24-27.
b. if you buy and play 23-30yo who don't train then you only lose a lot of money on them (their worth) with every season
c. when you use 16-18yo players you need much better others, so you need cheap oldies for that
Use the money you save because of their small wages to pay a couple of magical coaches.
Again, terrible... you don't "save money", you invest them so you get better youths and then you make higher profit on them...
there's no point in having "magical coaches" if you have weak young players
