What's everyone's fan club at the moment? I'm trying to work out how far behind I am. I'm on 950.
2939 but mine I am guessing will be the highest, it staggers around that, some weeks I will win and lose 2 fans.

I've got a new formation I want to test out (and I'm not experimenting in the cup) so I'm looking for an arcade game for tomorrow night. I'm looking for a team rating roughly 50 and who has some kind of wing-attack, as I'm looking to stress-test a new defensive setup. Ad is up

So it's a kind of 5-3-2/3-5-2 hybrid with 7 & 9 playing dual roles. What I'm after is someone to attack the weak points, which are obviously just outside of 2 & 4.

Do tactics make that much of a difference?
Thats a more fundamental question....I am tweaking my tactic but a lot of time it seems to be the rating and sometimes you can have like 11 plus shots before you score one goal.

Yeah I honestly think it makes a lot of difference. A good formation vs a bad formation can overcome up to about an 8-point rating gap.
Tactics do make a lot of difference, with well chosen and created tactics you can beat teams playing for 5-7 ratings more quite consistently, but IMO they work mostly on the grounds on whether the tactics is properly done & whether it is suited for the match engine.
By properly done I mean matching how the engine works (so one high&wide winger not two, right/left backs in line not wingbacks, midfielders in vertical lines with strikers) and with properly done details (like setting up the throw ins and corner kicks, vertical&horizontal movements of defs and atts particularly)
As for being suited for match engine:
For example what Camus proposes above looks interesting and could work in real life, but it won't work in sokker in any tactic against a high&wide winger because 7 and 9 will have no chance to get in place in defence or catch up to the winger.
Another problem is that 7 and 9 won't be of much use in the offensive part of the game because there's basically no short passing game and moving into positions here.
Number 6 (as an offensive playmaker) might work sometimes but mostly at u21 level and only against certain tactics...
In general this game has a very short list of working tactics (wing/no wing variations of 532, 541, 433, 442) & only a few that are the most effective ones. For example 5 def + 2 CM + 1 winger + 2 strikers is one of the most effective.
Of course at low/medium level average tactics or "weird" tactics can also work but that's another story...

That's why I'm testing 2 wingers in an arcade game. I've always felt 2 wingers + 2 strikers is unworkable, which is exactly why I'm trying to make it work. This is a trial and error match and I have plenty of ways to adapt the above formation that I think might work better.
