Onderwerp: The Tactics League Game

I'm a big fan of tactics in this game, so I wanted to come up with something that recognises the managers getting more out of less. I'm literally making this game up on the spot, so I'm open to adding to it.

The basic rules to start with.

To win points, you have to get a result (win or draw) against a team with a higher rating than you.

If you win, you get 3x the difference in ratings between teams.

If you draw, you get the difference in rating between teams

So beat a team 3 rating points better than you, and you get 9 points.
Draw against a team 3 rating points better than you, and you get 3 points.

Understandably this is more a game for the weaker teams in a league. If anyone can think of a way to include the stronger teams I'll add it.

AFC Bramford Lane .4 x 1 = .4 points
The Black Mages 3.2 x 3 = 9.6 points
Kendal 8.1 x 1 = 8.1 points
Internazionlle FC .5 x 1 = .5 points
Polska Walcząca .2 x 3 = .6 points
Dunarea Gruia 1.5 x 1 = 1.5 points

9.6 points The Black Mages
8.1 points Kendal

1.5 points Dunarea Gruia
0.6 points Polska Walcząca
0.5 points Internazionlle FC

I'll add Division 2 shortly.
Actually I won't. Too many teams using default formations to make it worth the effort.

The only way to include stronger teams is have a 'mean' score per match

Say big team 5-0 smaller team is the expected mean score.

Any deviation from that gains points.

So if it's 5-0 both get zero or 1 point which ever is scoring system
If it's greater than 5-0 big team get's some points
If it's less than 5-0 smaller team get's some points

That means wdp will try to beat us by even more and end up with a goal difference of +3000 (thousand, not hundred)

There'd have to be some way of calculating the expected score.

I have an idea, I'll test it out later.

So revision. 3 points for winning, and I reversed the underdog formula so I can get those teams in. I might still tweak it a bit as I don't like giving minus scores, seems fairer to just have 0

3 points for a win
1 point for each goal you won by
Lose a point for every rating point advantage you have (underdogs gain instead)

I like what you’re doing though, brings a bit of interest to the game…..other than the normal.

The Underdog League, is 3x for a win too much? Would 2x be better?

I'll put up a table fir comparison.

3 points for a win seems fair. How about 3 points beating a higher rank, 2 points within 2 rating points and 1 for the opposite?
