Went the long way round but got the job done eventually. Watch my game though and tell me my 2 strikers are in Superdivine and Unearthly form. They were an absolute joke tonight and did their best to lose me the game.

We survived. I was kicking myself when I realised I had substituted my best striker in the 60th minute.

4-2 and we had more shots but we went 2-0 down before my goalkeeper finished his warm up pasty.

I have had strikers in divine form that couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo, I have then seen a striker in tragic form score a Hattrick from 3 chances.........strange at times tbh.

I need to get that manager of the season thing up, and it's a bit more bloody awkward this time because I waited til after the playoffs and everyone has moved.

I will vote for Aluminium, he avoided two defeats before the season even started. Masterclass!

Just a reminder to everyone but the age update is on Saturday, so remember to have 6 free spaces in your youth setup. You want those Week 1 16 year olds (assuming the game doesn't screw us like it did last season).

Honestly now is a good time to totally refresh your youth system and get rid of any deadwood. As a general rule, if they're leaving aged 19 or more they should be binned. The only exceptions are those leaving at Incredible or more.

How did people fare with the coach retirement announcements?

Of my 5 coaches, 4 were eligible for retirement. 3 have declared the upcoming season to be their last (ages 73, 71, 65). 61yo stays on.

Gosh, you really are unlucky. None of my coaches wants to retire. Yet. I hope that this retirement thing is only announced at the start of the season and it's not something that could happen midway through.

Where does it say if they are retiring?
