Onderwerp: Euro 2024

Yeah, a last minute spectacular save! Wow! Another pretty entertaining game.

Austria was one of the best teams at this tournament. I really enjoyed watching them. It's a shame that snooze fest teams like England, France and Portugal advanced to the next round and they didn't.

Turkey though reminds me of Greece back in 2004. And they might repeat that miracle.

Yeah, it's like the so called bigger countries are massively underwhelming. Whilst the other countries with points to prove, are providing all the entertainment in the Euros. With the exception of Spain, who have looked superb!

I quite often find myself rooting for the underdogs. Last nights game was end to end stuff. A far greater show than England's games. I just hope England can play to their potential!

Come on England :)

I admire Portugal's fans, they sing the whole game. I guess they need to do something to stay awake.

Haha...

The Germany - Spain was a good game. Less so the Portugal - France. Poor old Ronaldo...and even older Pepe!! Golden oldies!

Wow, those Spanish players should all be handed Oscars, they're spectacular actors, especially Cucurella. Also, some of their fouls have raised the bar of awful sporting behaviour to a new level. I guess the game always changes but tonight I couldn't quite believe their unsportsmanlike behaviour. Spain are clearly a very, very good side and may well go on to win it but I just can't stand their play-acting and blatant cheating. Yes, I know every does it and it's part of the game these days, however tonight they were a little OTT!

Looking forward to our game tomorrow. I'm sure it'll be scintillating!!

Come on England.

Today, I genuinely feel sorry for Cristiano Ronaldo. In the match against France, I was cheering for Portugal.
2024-07-06 00:57:03
I feel sorry for Portugal that they have to play with Ronaldo, he was simply terrible during whole tournament
2024-07-06 02:33:17
It doesn't matter what he is now; what matters is what Cristiano Ronaldo was. His career deserves respect.
2024-07-06 02:34:39
The career, yes.
The guy is an absolute bellend.
2024-07-06 02:39:50
I respect hardworking people, and he is a titan of work. No one gave him anything for free. It's a shame you wrote that.
2024-07-06 03:01:20
He's an arrogant, vain egomaniac. All things I hate with a passion. I don't care if he's a hardworker, lots of people are hardworkers without being cocks.
2024-07-06 08:26:15
True.

The ronaldo cult is missing the point: ronaldo doesn't respect himself. Otherwise he wouldn't embarrass himself the way he did at this tournament. It's just vain.

I personally cannot stand Ronaldo (Portuguese one). If he wasn't so arrogant he'd be almost bearable. I don't respect people (players or not) like this...

Yes, he's a good player and has achieved great things in football. Well done him for working hard to achieve this but as a person, I lose respect for him due to his behaviour. Yes, I am judging him from what I see when he's playing or on TV (interviews etc), so I could be wrongly judging, I accept that too!
2024-07-06 13:22:12
I'm not a fan of Cristiano either, but I respect him for what he has achieved. It's clear that he is trying to defy fate. I sympathize with him as a person because it's evident that he doesn't want to come to terms with the passing of time.

That would be fine if it was a singles sport like tennis, but he’s clearly affecting whole team. Martinez is afraid the get on his bad side.

They even started criticizing CR on Portuguese TV which never happens. One journalist in the studio after the game said that every journalist in Portugal knows CR should not be playing anymore as first choice, while others had an afraid expression of „you can’t say that on tv”

In Poland, we had many great boxers, including Dariusz Michalczewski, who won 48 professional fights. I'm not sure, but the 48-win mark seems to be a barrier that many excellent boxers haven't been able to surpass. This was also the case with Darek. I write this comparison to the situation with Cristiano, who also can't come to terms with reality.
