In Poland, we had many great boxers, including Dariusz Michalczewski, who won 48 professional fights. I'm not sure, but the 48-win mark seems to be a barrier that many excellent boxers haven't been able to surpass. This was also the case with Darek. I write this comparison to the situation with Cristiano, who also can't come to terms with reality.

Boxing is a bit different, they often get back into the ring for easy money, even long after their prime. Look at Tyson today, still having another fight and he’s almost 60.

For CR the Euro/Portugal money is unnoticeable, it’s just about ego/delusion.

He won 48 fights in a row without a loss.

Cristiano Ronaldo in his last 10 major tournament appearances:

One goal
One assist

In World Cup knockout games, Ronaldo has 0 goals and 0 assists. Manuel Neuer has 1 assist.

It's not just that he's not contributing, it's that he's actively taking chances away from the rest of his team. He literally makes them worse.
He's either completely ignorant of that or he doesn't care.

I remember when he was at Juve. He still had the INDIVIDUAL numbers so people disagreed that he's a problem, but for everyone watching Juventus it was obvious that he's in fact bad for the team [especially financially]. The whole team starting playing and being set up just to play for him, there was a total dependence on his form of the day, he was already not taking part in pressing etc.

The most important fact was that even though he scored a lot, at the same time the general number of goals scored by Juventus dropped after he joined the team and the results dropped as well. Same happened when he then went to United.

I thought Arnautovic also ruined Austria's otherwise beautiful game.

I suspect these numbers have changed since. For example, I would pay good money for Mikataudze (Georgia) or the Georgia number 6 (can't remember his name). The same for Baris (Turkey), Calafiori (Italy), Posch (Austria), Serbia's left back, Slovenia's centre backs or Dragus (Romania). Albania impressed me too as a group.

By the way, I wouldn't pay the price tag for most of those players listed in the above post. Especially the top ones.

One of the reason why the prices have taken a knotch up is, besides Rodri most players on this list Are young but peaked early... we Are looking at a brand new generation of superstars age 16-23... I think a sign of maybe a golden generation...

And lamine Jamal is worth way more then that price for rodri

I am not a fan of young players with high price tag. Yes, it's great when they break through but I could give you hundreds of examples of 16-17 years wonders that we don't even hear about them by the time they reached 22-23 years old.
