Onderwerp: Season 68

That wouldn't work either, such system would be far too easy to take advantage of. You could easily sell players below value and use it to boost your team.

For example:

You ask your friend to create a team, then you buy 10 decent youths for 10m, send them for 1m total to your friends team, he trains them and then sells them back to you for 1m again after season.

You paid 10m for player, now you got them trained up for you and can cash the profit.

And so on.

Current system has its downsides, but it's the best there is. Possible it would be worth adding an "auto-bidder" for plus users.

And if you people don't like how long the bidding takes, well you don't have to big by smallest amount every time, that's a personal choice.

We had this conversation before and I explained then how to deal with these problems,
2024-09-20 16:54:32
If you leave a high bid on a reasonably decent player and are not online, 99/100 you will not get the player and lose by 1 bid.
2024-09-20 16:58:04
I'm talking about the bidding online, you don't have to bid by lowest amount, I usually negotiate aggressively and it often works to discourage "bargain hunters"
2024-09-20 17:04:42
I didn't say by lowest amount, if you read I wrote "if you leave a high bid".
2024-09-20 17:10:53
and I'm referring to this part:

a pain in this game if you don't have loads of time. 2 minute extension on transfers one of the more frustrating things of this game as can sit there ages sometime

I hate that as well, hence I usually don't make small bids and the whole bidding process ends very fast
2024-09-20 23:54:09
So basically you over pay then.
2024-09-21 00:23:38
Not really. I know the market and I know what price is high and what price is low. I raise the price aggressively, but I never get above the "medium" price, usually I stop the moment the price is no longer a bargain. When I start the bidding I already have a fixed MAX price that I'm willing to go to.

Actually slow, long-lasting bidding often leads to higher prices.

a. very low price makes people believe that they can get a player as a total bargain, which actually happens very rarely
b. during long, low stake bidding people get emotionally invested / angry at the "opponent" and keep on raising the price even above the price they would deem reasonable before start of bid war
c. the longer the bidding lasts, the bigger the chance that someone new / late joins the bidding war

A sudden raise of price from 100k to 1m often cools people down, they no longer see a potential for bargain and turn to other players.

An example

This guy I've got for 390 000 $, while similar players went at that time for around 1 500 000 $ to 2 000 000 $. 2 minutes before end of bidding I raised the price to 375 000 $, got one overbid, bid again and got him.

Matěj Kyjovský, age: 16

[0] stamina [0] keeper
[6] pace [5] defender
[3] technique [1] playmaker
[5] passing [3] striker

This is how he looks now, will go tomorrow for around 10 000 000 $

Matěj Kyjovský, age: 18
club: The Evil`s, country: Česká republika
value : 542 000 zł
wage: 5 200 zł
superdivine [18] form
excellent [10] tactical discipline
height: 172 cm, weight: 74.3 kg, BMI: 25.11

poor [3] stamina tragic [0] keeper
good [7] pace good [7] defender
good [7] technique good [7] playmaker
very good [9] passing average [5] striker

Of course not always this kind of aggressive approach works, but I had many times when I was "close" to getting a player in a long bidding war, went 1v1 with someone, and then suddenly a 3rd or 4th party appeared and raised the price a lot.

And as I mentioned, it helps a lot with making the bid war much faster. There are some that keep on bidding at last second for a minimum amount, can't stand them.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be looking out for that when we're both bidding on Kyle Fairclough tomorrow. Bring snacks, it's going to take a while ;)
2024-09-21 01:05:11
I can trade him for the snacks;)

I'm going for a beer with friends at that time, so I'll probably miss him anyway :)
2024-09-21 01:14:52
What kind of madness is this? £2.8M? He's got lower sumskills than Fairclough
2024-09-21 01:21:26
Higher pace, higher MID sumskill (Fairclough's striker makes no difference for a MID trainee) & most of all proven talent

Similar players went for more...

Sancho Mayordomo [39487449] - SS MID 26, 3 059 998 £
Anacleto Schmidt [39519966] - SS MID 27, 6 127 391 £ (this one is ridiculous to be fair unless had proven top 3.1-3.2 talent)
2024-09-21 04:54:48
same as me, bought this guy last season for 1 651 £ when was 17 around 2-3week last season
[2] stamina tragic [0] keeper
[1] pace [4] defender
[7] technique [7] playmaker
[1] passing [3] striker

now:

poor [3] stamina tragic [0] keeper
adequate [6] pace average [5] defender
solid [8] technique solid [8] playmaker
hopeless [1] passing poor [3] striker

until average pace, 2AT, on adequate, 3, so talent prob isnt best, but mine trainers are'nt best too... still i should get around half milion about him atm I guess. Ill do all season training of pace, next season passing.
and really soon + in passing and striker

Our league is a bit out. Man Utd should be going for the Championship and RTS Widzew a podium. I also think Northern Thistle will stay up easily. I am looking forward to the league this season, I think it will be very competitive at both ends.

Yeah I think the formula needs a little work. I'm insulted by the assumption that I'm going down, I don't expect to be bottom 3 again.
