Onderwerp: I gotta rant....

I think after this thread, Smirker has passed me in the most hated people on sokker list

Congrats!

You all miss the point as I see it in my talentless way. Success in this game relies on your ability to buy and sell players after training them. If you care about an extra $23 (or whatever it really means for 6 people to have their mood drop, Smirker), then you won't ultimately do well here. I ignore my fans. If you make $1m in selling one player, then it whitewashes the impact of ALL of the fan mood nonsense for a bunch of seasons.

You have a very good point, and I would say that you are probably right, it is such a small part of the game and it probably doesn't need that much attention, regarless of how stupid it works.

What do you think about improving the training part part of the game? This seems to be over the top retarded where we are limited to the number of players that we can train, based on what skill is being training. No club in the world says to their players, you can't train this week because we are only training those 6 guys over there. I like that they game gives each individual player a "Hidden Talent" level and that each player develops at his own rate based in combination of the Coaching staff talent. With that being said, why the limitations on overall player development?

I've finally made it; king of the world!

I would like to see more of an HA-style training system, where you get to pick what you train players in. The way it is done here is MUCH better than e.g. HT - the fact that there are more things, and that you get more training with focus on a particular position, makes sense. But this is a simulation, and it is trying to ... simulate real life. It seems like if you coached a hockey team and had three assistants, then you should be able to train at least four different stats. Maybe have the ability to choose up to four training skills each week. If you picked one, then you'd get more effective training than if you picked 2-4. But if you split up, then you could assign an assistant to each skill, and their particular level of training IN THAT SKILL would impact the training.

For example, you could use your head coach to train pace. You could use any combination of 1-3 assistants to train other positions and other skills, with decreasing impact based on their skill level in that stat. The more assistants train other skills, the less effective the training would be. But that mirrors real life. If you have the entire team drilling in one aspect, then they all get better there. But real teams also would have assistants working with defenders on one thing, while another works with another group of position players.

Llama, you're not hated, don't flatter yourself :-)

Ditto smirker.

I don't hate you, smirker, I just don't see how going for the most obvious, simplistic solution is anything but boring in a game like this. You want the fan mood follow directly your match results: you win the mood increases, you lose - it decreases. Why do you need the fan mood in this case, you do have the league table, you don't need to copy that information.

Jefe started this thread complaining about the junior training and how unpredictable it is. If you want predictability then why don't we just say you have a new junior in your school, his age is 18, his talent is 4.5, you can pull him in 24 weeks, and just forget the whole thing about weekly junior pops. Besides, if you want realistic, in the previous system you knew exactly the junior's talent, but not his age. How realistic is that?

Now, if you want to continue this logic, why don't we "fix" also these weekly matches. After all they are unpredictable, sometimes the "weaker" team wins. We could simply add the total skill of all players on the pitch and the team with the highest total skill level wins. Pretty stupid, huh? But that's the same kind of argument as smirker and jefe used.

I just like some unpredictability in this game. That's what makes it interesting. And I wouldn't reduce everything here to money either. You have many teams on a similar financial level and some do better than others, and some managers have more fun than others.

Finally, to increase the dramatic effect and to fulfill smirker expectations: Smirker, you are a moron!

Just kidding :-)

The worst part is that I keep paying for Plus..............so I guess I'm a gluten for punishment.

Although the training is not very realistic, I do think it makes the transfer market more active. Which may or may not be realistic, probably not.

I've played 10-12 simulations games in various sports, sokker is by far my favorite.

The match viewer gets a bit to much credit I think, its all about tactics for me.

If you want to upgrade the game, lets talk about formations changes based on conditionals orders.

:))))
2011-01-26 19:20:27
Agree 100%, I totally think you should be able to change formations based on time, score, etc.

Also, with substitutions, I think we should be able to sub one player, but then be able to shift players on the field. i.e. you bring on a new guy for your #8, but then you want to that guy to switch positions with the guy who is currently on in postition #6.

I think you can do that with current conditional orders

Couldn't agree more but every time it is brought up someone points it is not doable with the current match engine :-(

yes

and yes, its also the reason the match viewer does not have rewind

Arsenals prime objective is one thing and one thing only, to qualify for Champions League. So with that being said, I want to thank you. And one more thing, I can't wait for Barca to crush your hopes next month! :-)

HI SMIRKER. HOW ARE YOU TODAY?
2011-02-17 16:42:43
actually, his brother in law just passed away so he's probably not too good. Barca losing I'm sure did not improve his mood, but he has a little crow coming no doubt.

I want better graphics :).

I would even pay to have it:)
