I'm really not even upset with my tactic, I'm more upset with the players choices

All in all, our team just looked nervous


We each had our chances. Heck we had 3 crosses that we either headed into the goalie or missed the net

I think the 57' really summed up the game. We get the ball with the chance for a 1 on 1, he ends up taking a dribble then taking a long dribble/badly passing it to the middle and the attack is ruined?

They could also catch out strikers, we couldn't catch theirs. And the triple stack was a nice tactic by the belgium coach, really was a lot for our defender to handle

do I think it we should have won and got unlucky? no.

But I think we should have been able to play a little bit smarter than we did...lots of kickball and dumb passes...oh well. We scored our first goal so that's good news :)

watched 10 mins so far, our defensive line looks too high and their forwards look fast....

ok, watched 13 minutes, our defense is definitely too high. One missed tackle and we are screwed. Happened twice already, once resulting in a goal.

For me the best tactic for this match was something like this.The opponent is quite serious so you need to play so that you concede as less as you can in order to have a chance of getting something from the match.Against fast strikers a defense like this (that sits back and waits for the strikers to come) is quite effective most of the times.The spread defense in this match had to be covered by 2 defensive midfielders in the holes between the central defs and wingbacks.Also against such tough defense you should count on packed strikers (as we discussed yesterday).Belgium's defense was quite spread and if USA's strikers were close to each other than they would have played only against one defender during the whole match.Belgium's strikers were positioned in a similar way although they played against two defenders close to each other and not only one.

Still the match was not that bad.The tactic was pretty much ok if you ask me.It just wasn't the right tactic for this match exactly but you can achieve some nice results with it if you use it against a proper opponent.

P.S. Don't accept this as criticism 'cause it may sound like this but it wasn't my intention.You know English's not my mother tongue and it's far from being perfect.My only purpose is to give my advice which may somehow be useful.

I played a high line because we had superdivine pace defenders that I thought would be able to keep up

The sad thing is their forwards were way too fast even for our superdivine pace defenders...so I'm guessing they have superdivine + x? Inexperience hurt me there as I thought we would be able to keep up considering the pace skill but in the future I'll definitely pull back the line after seeing what I've seen.

I feel also if the back line was deeper we wouldn't need the 2 defensive midfielders to cover as much considering our line would be more compact back there, plus I did have 2 defenders to their strikers.

I'm not too upset with how I lined up our strikers, each side had multiple chances for through balls that lead to breakaways. Unfortunately, they could catch our strikers...that and our strikers were straight up retarded this game and wouldn't dribble towards the goal but instead took many touches sideways then lost the ball. I was very displeased with how they handled the ball.

7 to 12 shots 1:5 score, I think 2:3 or 2:4 would have seemed a little more appropriate. Was a bit annoying that any header of ours was blocked and any header of theirs went in lol.

your tactic was not so bad, indeed. ;-) It could have been worse for me, from the first 6 big chances Belgium had, we scored 4, so there we have been a bit lucky :-)

I didn't know what to expect from you as it was your first match as a NT-coach. So, there was not much sense in scouting intensively. I therefore tried to make a dominant but evenly tactic and it worked out fine, so I'm happy ;-) Was a bit scared, though, after seeing the first 5 minutes. Man, you're team started as crzay men :-)

And I have to say, I've had probably 7 or 8 one-on-one's of which some didn't even contributed to my 12 shots, as my attacker just ran into your keeper. From your 7 shots, there were several shots from distance, not being dangerous at all. But 1-5 is a bit harsch indeed ;-)

haha thanks mate, I definitely messed up with the back line. I had more confidence in the speed of my defensive line than they showed lol. You played a good tactic and that double stack with the midfielder behind was a hard hold. You did get a bit lucky with those 4 fast goals there (made me sad too lol) but there were also a lot of 1 on 1's later where your guys didn't shoot lol.

Looking back at that I can say you deserved the win, well played, and I look forward to playing you in the future. :)

There is no superdivine +x.Superdivine represents the highest possible divine - 17.99 and you can't train anymore.
