Onderwerp: [U21] v Turkey

Turkey went into the match unbeaten, un-tied and un-scored upon. They out shot us 13-7, but more impressive was the 7 shots with a lone striker by us.

Their goal was insane, off a free kick, headed in by their striker with two defenders all over them. Their first 3 chances were really good, their last 10 were not so challenging, and a lot from distance. Our goal was a fluke, but deserved. Their goalie essentially fell during an innocuous cross, and our striker tapped it in.

We are tied for second with Serbia, ahead on GD, but if memory serves me that is irrelevant. Basically even with a loss to Turkey I think we control our own fate. No matter the result with Turkey, win the last 4 and we should go through unless Serbia pulls a point from Turkey. I like where we are sitting, a shame we dropped the first match to a fading Slovenia.
