Onderwerp: [U21] Uriah

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth I decided to run for this. I had some concerns about how much time and effort it would require, but if I do get elected I will most definitely take it very seriously and give it my best effort.

My experience is mostly B and A league but I have done fairly well considering how long I've been playing. The highlight is probably last season where I managed a top half finish in a pretty tough A league.

I think I have a good grasp on tactics, particularly with players that mark in the 50 to 60 range where the U21s usually mark, since that's what I have experience with.

The plan I have been considering, if I get elected, is to try and make the whole national team process a more community-based project. I'd like to get a group of scouts together, one for each position would be great, and have each start and maintain a thread for the top prospects at each position, similar to what Dagwood did with the excellent Top Strikers thread in the U21 Association forum.

This would, I hope, generate more interest for trainers, and help all those interested in training, or planning to train, specifically for U21 and National team to see where their players stand and where the team could use help.

I have some other ideas along those lines, and am open to suggestions, but what I can realistically get done will depend on the amount of interest from the community and how much help I get.

I'd also make a real effort to provide some context and maybe some pseudo-journalism for the matches, and maybe something for particular players from time to time, like a player-highlight-profile type thing. I've done this in the past for other games and had some fun with it. No real promises there, I'll do as much as I can when I can, but at minimum you can expect a thread for each game with some context as to why it's important or not, as well as a recap when it's over.

Would you mind explaining your previous experience with the U21/NT? Ex: Scouting, talking tactics with coaches, hours watching the teams play, etc.

Not a whole lot of experience with that, a little scouting and advice for Fla before the Russia match in the last world cup is about it.

I will be jumping into some things I haven't tried before, but I spoke with Fla about some areas I might potentially find difficult like manipulating the database and arranging friendlies, and he more or less put my mind at rest. I'm sure he will be there to help me out if there are areas where lack of experience would be a problem.

And I'm hoping that managers like yourself will also be willing to stay involved and make the job easier and more interesting.

Definitely get help with arranging friendlies. I'm glad Fla already put your mind at ease. My first season I had no clue how friendlies were scheduled and I was just bombarded with offers and schedules and it was very overwhelming. Once you understand it though it becomes pretty simple.

Curious who actually voted for me? I went in and just put my name up without announcing it for laughs. Then today or last night, there was something like 18-19 votes in. I removed myself and re added myself then(my current one vote is myself naturally) and like 2-3 votes were lost from the total.
