In real football, which Sukker is not by any stretch realistic portrayal of it, when a striker tackles, it usually ends in embarrassment or a booking, not a successful tackle.
I agree... the games have some good action.. But the break away issue drives me crazy..it ruins my tactical advantage... break aways should have a better chance of scoring than most of the goals that end up making it in the net.. the point of tactics was to create better scoring opportunities.. while limiting the amount of quality shots by the opponent.. or so i thought!! that doesn't seem to be the case yet with the new ME.. just my opinion :)
My advice is to probably stack your back 4 about 40 yards from goal and just let the other team have breakaways. As far as I can tell success is only about 25%.

Gotta love yet another key game where I lose a player in the middle for a red card.
That is pure class.... that said though Martin Skrtel did the exact same thing in real life yesterday for Liverpool.
Look it happens RARELY in real soccer, but too much here. Look we are talking an ME that has strikers on clear breakways making back passes (which they probably would miss anyway under said ME) which in real life is never going to happen since strikers are selfish.
I think I have found the fun in SK and that is watching the game implode from a simulator to a video game to a video game that doesn't resemble soccer.

And the real problem as I see it, is that the ME has actually eroded instead of improving.
It was much better 3 or 4 seasons back. I guess I feel that way about most of the game, including youth school. Its the reason I pulled out of plus a couple seasons back.

The youth school change was just dumb. It might have made it more realistic or challenging or whatever it was they were aiming at, but it took all the fun out of checking the youth school every week to see who popped.
Plus it just sucks not knowing exactly how talented a youth is, it would be one thing if the training system wasn't so unrealistic and constricting, but it is, with no way to open up spots easily to run the rule over a youth we aren't sure of.
So they have this unrealistic training system that isn't fun, since you can't train a whole slew of young players like you can in the Football Manager games, or at a real football club, and then on the other hand they made the change in the appraisal of youth to make it "realistic" but in the process made that entire aspect of the game less enjoyable.
It's like whenever they have a game design choice to make they inevitably decide on the option that is least entertaining for managers, then justify it by talking about "game balance" or "realism". (or that's what people on the forums who defend these decisions say, the developers don't actually say anything publicly about it as far as I know.)
Screw all that, let us know exactly how talented our youths are, open up the training system to let us train 30 players without having to jump through a bunch of hoops with orders and lineup slots, then make every ME change with an eye toward making the games more fun and satisfying to watch. Who wants to watch players miss empty nets from 3 yards out, or back-pass on a breakaway, or push the ball out of bounds for no reason, or watch defenders kick the ball out when there's no pressure at all?
Doesn't make sense, I still think this is a great game compared to the other crap out there in this genre, but it feels half-finished and neglected and they won't get any more of my money until the changes start making the game feel a lot more refined.

Well said. Exactly, they sold us all on match order ability and the visuals, but as the game has grown it is about sizzle not substance. It is about attracting new people, but alientating their current client base.
I don't even watch the 3D, the camera interface is so clunky it gets on my nerves too much to fight with it. A decent idea but terrible execution. They need to play test and refine some of this stuff, some parts o this game are still at beta, or alpha, stage.
And don't even get me started on the junior matches and leagues, another good idea so badly implemented that almost nobody I know of watches the games or cares about the league standings.

and even though im more on the 'new' side.. i still only watch the matches in 2d also.. the 3d thing is again.. stupid
what a mess.. just as i was getting hooked.. all these rediculous changes come about...
