I've been pissed for ages with this game's match engine. Still to this day, I will never understand how 1-1-8 formation that seems to be tactic of choice for many users in this game is allowed to work as it does. I'm sooooo sick of the whole, one winger crosses it into the box to one striker who is surrounded by at least two defenders along with another 2-3 in the box and not a single other attacking player within MILES of the goal and yet somehow some way, that striker beats everyone and the goalie at least twice per game, when if that scenario were to happen in real life I think the striker might put one in about once every 1000 tries. But will the mods fix this absurd stupidity???? Of course not.

That is the one thing HT got right, it punished you for being unrealistic.

@mario - the real problem with the devs is their arrogance. They do not listen to their customers (i.e. those of us who play and more so those who PAY). This will never be a world game and as one of you said earlier, and I have been saying, if I want a video game I will just by FM or FIFA and put in on self play and watch.

For me it was an user that i knew from HT: X3wid (or something like that...)

Yeah but HT sucked in that there was no tactic and whoever had the midfield advantage won...

Team A: Wretched striking, Wretched defending, passable midfield

Team B: solid striking, passable defending, inadequate midfield

Team A 7-1 Team B

Believe me I am not making a comparison, but I was saying you were punished for doing totally unrealistic things. 1-1-8 is not real!!! Though if you go way back an 8-1-1 or 9-1-0 was used.

I came back because I missed the USA "family"...and the game. with all it's faults, it was fun and interesting and a challenge to work out the issues. But, like most of you here, the problems don't get solved and with the "improved" match engine team performance is so totally screwed up it's not worth the effort to sort out. I haven't decided yet, but I'm thinking about bailing again...for good this time. It's not fun and challenging anymore.

I agree but I'm hanging around casually for awhile to see if it improves at all.
Have not had plus for a couple seasons now and certainly won't unless things change drastically.
I only spend a few minutes a week on this game now.
