Onderwerp: [NT] USA NT - Discussion

I believe, when looking at the big picture, this approach will actually give NT coach better odds of winning every game, every time.

Totally agree!

We have tons of WASTED potential. None of our starting senior NT trains in the US and there isn't the same motivation to train players to divine pace especially with training reform. I have several players that could have played for smaller NT countries but stopping training pace at Magical because it's good enough for the ML and I can begin to focus on my next generation of players. Why should any other player from another country do anything different? Honestly I have 2 strikers with NT potential but idk if it's worth training them to divine pace. Large countries have this incentive since they need to do this to be competitive in their leagues.

Our U21 team has had huge success just because 2 non US users actually trained our players!!! We have had some mega talents like Evan Stine or Joe Walls that were sold and MISSED training so they probably will NEVER play for the NT.

We have enough US users and enough youth academies to have a strong NT but we don't have enough dedicated users to train players up to a NT standard. I also disagree with training inefficiencies that islander keeps bringing up. If a player is talented enough they will still play U21 and get extra training in a small country. This isn't Poland...

One of the players that Releme speaks so highly of is Jonas Woock at 23 years old. He had bad skill distribution coming out of my academy and I sold him for 20k. Easily could have been out of the game had the wrong person purchased him and never trained!!!

Here's an example at how bad training for US players is. I have a player on my team that came in to my academy with hopeless skill and was worthless on TL when he came out. Now he is the #3 U19 defender for the US...

I'm not following you here.

Prioritizing pace early on is the most efficient way to train a player towards max skills/potential. The US is a small enough that if someone is talented enough it won't matter and they will still probably start on the U21 team. If you prioritize pace in a larger user country like Poland then there's no way they play for U21 due to an abundance of other talent training in position specific skills.

"Our U21 team has had huge success just because 2 non US users actually trained our players!!!"

I'd argue Norbert's tactical competency played a larger role than you realize. There's a lot of similar to slightly better skilled teams in our weight class in U21. I've been singing Norbert's praises since pretty much day 1 here last year.

Additionally, we have to ask ourselves if U21 success is truly going to produce the type of players we need for the NT in 6-7 seasons, because unless the team is loaded with managers like us who have fully optimized coaching and training. Yes, Adivip and Norbert train the kids through 21. Then, they are sold and there's a good 4 more seasons they can make relevant gains for someone else. These kids can and I suspect do still get ruined. Nothing these two do will make sure we have double divine defenders with high tech at 27.

That and (this is unrelated to you) this constant drumming about team score. I'm telling you, I am living evidence team score is garbage. You can elevate team score simply through good tactics. I'm half tempted to share my current 3/4 man midfield, just so you guys can see how STILL subpar it is. Yet they get scores in the upper 60s because of activity in games, and this comes from good tactics. Here's my last arcade match where I implemented a slightly modified update of my base NF 442 tactic:
https://sokker.org/comment?matchID=41677482

Look at that, 67 team score. Midfield scores: 64, 66, 66, 65.

I don't have a single magical stat on ANY of them
. They are all in very good form and between this and (at least for this match) smart implementation probably boosts their ratings by 10 each. There's a reason I don't play Maldonado as a holding mid. it's because I know he's not good enough. He's got the ball skills, but not the level of defense I want. I'm going to try and scrape that out of him next season.

Many years ago now I used to be a Moderator and then an Admin. I had a fairly long sabbatical from the game but kept my youth team going. I have been playing again for quite a few years now, when I was Mod previously I was responsible for many countries, the US was one as it was all English speaking countries. I am keeping an eye on things, and it will not be a forgotten country here. I can categorically state that things are happening in the background to avoid voter fraud in future elections. :)

I am also available by mail whenever anyone has a query or witnesses something they don't believe is correct.

You probably stumbled into here (either by direction from above, or just happenstance) because of all the venom being spread on this particular thread in general.

It's welcome, but it doesn't really change my view.

This entire hemisphere has virtually no actual administration. I've taken the time to look. In my present view they really don't care about us at the administration level. If they did, they'd make an admin for North America.

The things that releme does with young players in the senior NT will not benefit you whatsoever. 96% training from club is better as collecting injury in the NT game. You should concentrate on collecting the ranking points with best players you have on your disposal, with form not under 14.
With your youth players, the best way is that few of your top-mid users, with top staff, sacrifices his results for a few seasons and focus only on training your prospects. It would also be a massive financial boost for the users, when he sells them later. I did it for 4-5 seasons and have now the same players in the A team and in the NT.
Also, the user will be proud later seeing his players in the NT.
We have on our 60 users, 6 guys doing that. I will probably do the same again from the next season. There are also users in other countries that train only one foreign nationality

100% agree with trga here, all around.
We actually do have some teams now who do this junior training to some extent, I think. Norbert can answer better though.

If it were easier to find and acquire these players, I would absolutely do this on my rebuild in a few seasons. Problem seems to be these proper talented guys are few and far between on the market, and go for very high prices which I won't be able to swing (even after selling off most of my team). I'm not interested in paying million + for a youth pull. I won't be sitting on 30 million cash when the time comes.

They're usually not that expensive... well it's relative.

Looking by last u21 USA game, first squad (in euro, 1m euro = 1 000 000 $), only outfield players, first transfer:

900k
own youth
50k
20k
3.75m
400k
175k
2.5m
10k
4.5m

so 3 quite expensive, but at least 4 of them were extremely affordable when first sold

I had a similar situation with an English youth lately, they also don't look much after their youths (although it's changing now I think) - bought one for 900k, he turns out to be their best MID u19, after one season I sold him for 5m euro

in many countries like Australia, Ireland, Czech Rep when they see a decent youth, they make sure they get him...

If this is the case I am more than happy to look into it.
2024-08-21 15:18:45
You see for example how cheap I bought it:

Fred Gidel

He played 9 matches for the USA U21 team and scored 6 goals.

This is just one example, but at a young age you can buy really cheap players with the potential to play in the national team and train them.
2024-08-21 16:21:47
If we can gather few managers that will dedicate at least one training spot towards national development it will make a huge difference down the road.

Also it will create better market economy for US National players, that will later translate to increased YS income.

We need TL scouting to make sure that no talent goes unnoticed.

Also we going to need some guidelines on the quality of youth we are looking for and how to train them for u21/or NT.

It would be ideal that we agree on a profile of a player and his desired skill distribution that can be best utilized in NT, making such guidelines transparent and accessible on forum for everyone to see.
2024-08-21 16:26:04
Question: Did you know Gidel's talent when you bought him, or did you just get lucky?
2024-08-21 16:36:48
I didn't know the talent, it's rare for someone to write about talent, he was 17 years old and it was the beginning of the season and he had these skills:

[3] [0]
[5] [4]
[3] [6]
[2] [6]

Currently at the age of 22 he has the following skills:

[11] [0]
[13] [8]
[11] [9]
[8] [13]
