Onderwerp: USA LOST!!

2009-08-14 20:00:39
Posted by Garnt Wahl, lead soccer writer for SI: "To the Mexican guy who dumped beer on my laptop and gave me double-middle-fingers three feet in front of my face: Yo amo tu pais. Es una tierra muy linda con gente amable. Entonces: ¿Por qué eres tan mal anfitrión? Cuando los equipos juegan en los EEUU eso no pasa."

dude Donovan took his test on Sunday and got his results on Thursday so there is NO way that he got it in Mexico... lets just keep it about soccer and no gringos or talking shit about mexicans throwing beer at donovan its all a part of soccer. I also think Mexico hates USA way more than US hates Mexico. Also a lot of USA players were talking about beating Mexico in the Azteca and it pissed of fans so thats their way of answering back ha but I admit thats not the right thing to do... so please just keep it soccer related.

Dude your gonna say that Bocanegra didn't reserve a second yellow (red) when he cut off an advance of the Mexican NT? I admit he did mess up for not giving Nery a yellow but a red card for torrados grab? how about Howard? he came out too and should have got a yellow?
2009-08-14 21:00:27
they threw vomit and urine as well, is that part of soccer?
2009-08-14 21:03:04
dude i just said to keep it within what happened in the field... and no, that shouldn't be part of soccer but what can we do about it? there is always gonna be idiots in EVERY country
2009-08-14 21:04:27
that did happen within the field

I didnt say anything of the sort. US made some hard fouls and got booked. I do think that the ref was blatantly inconsitent.

Rules state no hands to the face, period. Two Us players were grabbed (choked), and headlocked in the span of a minute and the result was one yellow? Howard was a calming presence.

He was just trying to settle the situation.

Which reminds me, what was up with uni-bro jumping on Howard trying to get the ball for an uncalled corner? More shinanigans.

In the US the fans throw toilet paper and streamers with the occasional beer. In Mexico urine and puke are thrown along with beers and many other objects. If you have ever played in front of a harsh crowd you would know it affects you as a player which is part of the home field advantage. But I personally couldn't imagine concentrating taking corner kicks or playing having to worry about insanitary things being tossed on me. That affects the game as much as anything, making it part of the game.

And to me anything that has an affect on plays during a game is affecting the game or am I wrong? And given free kicks are something that the US has an advantage on Mexico in, a little thing like a corner could have given the US an 2nd, much needed goal.

And you calling people "douche" and "gringos" doesn't contradict any of the un-classy statements said about Mexican fans.

its funny how youre acting like the peacekeeper now when you created the title of the topic, then immediately turn around and call me a douche making a valid point that having disgusting things on you is an on field topic.

im not sure how you wouldve expected a level headed conversation to begin with

YOU PUNISH IT AND CONDEM IT. There is no room in soccer for BS like that.

Lifetime stadium bands, fines, criminal sentences, teams being forced to play matches with empty stadiums.

You send a firm message that garbage will not be tolerated. As you said in this very thread, you keep it to soccer. I would LOVE to keep these post match debates to ONLY soccer but when complete and utter barbarity insuues, we are forced to analyze events in their entirety.

How much longer do you wanna sweep this crap under the rug for? and frankly im tired of it being a one way street.
