I hope that it will continue like this for a long time and at the World Cup we will be able to achieve something nice.

But we haven't faced the top opponents so far, so there is still a lot to do, test and improve.

Diese Länder werden aus dem Wettbewerb zurückgezogen, so dass die Zahl der Mannschaften, die an der WM-Qualifikation teilnehmen, auf 96 reduziert wird, was eine gleichmäßige Verteilung der Gruppen und faire Qualifikationsregeln ermöglicht.

Für die Qualifikation werden 16 Sechser-Gruppen gebildet, wobei die beiden besten Mannschaften jeder Gruppe weiterkommen.

ja, das war die News im März. Kein guter Tag für die Devs, erst das Altersupdate und dann die Auslosung. Sie machen ja nicht viel - aber wenigstens das sollten sie wenigstens mal testen, bevor sie es implementieren.

Unfortunately they are a group of amateurs who can't do simple things properly and mess up everything they touch.

This season the suddenly (no idea why) move the age change from Friday to today. The result? Every new youth we received got +1 in age after 15 minutes.
So if you got a 16yo youth, he now has 17 years. They don't think what they are doing.

Another win, not a good game though. I'm really negatively surprised about this match - offensively it wasn't terrible, although for long spells the winger was "out of order". But defensively we had some problems that we didn't have in previous games - I'm not really sure what happened, will have to analyse it a bit. Maybe it was just one of those games, honestly the result could have ended as a 7:4 as well, lot's of situations for both teams... Nahrendorf alone was close to scoring 3 and he came for last 20 minutes.

Next week: Argentina. Best opponent of this season, one of top National Teams in the game.

I think that is totally o.k. borkos. This is the result of the high standing def. . I play it that way too. And in my opinion, the advantages outweigh the fact that you are constricting the opponent in their half, are more likely to gain possession of the ball and create more scoring chances yourself. Of course, in some situations it looks stupid when a striker gets through. But overall, that is exactly the great strength of your tactics. The alternative would be that you only have 1 striker + winger and 6 defenses with full-backs with mid alignment but high def. skills to "double" opponents winger. I play it very successfully as a 6-1-3 and 4-1-4-1. Especially against stronger opponents.

Thanks, I agree that a 5-4-1 or 6-3-1 can be very useful in limiting an opponent, especially when playing against a stronger rival (6-3-1 can be VERY annoying especially in a very low defensive block...).

The problem with it is I don't feel comfortable using a 1 ATT tactic, the reason is that when the better team creates situations and opponents is very limited to 1-2 situations (for example 15:2 in shots) then the engine adds a handicap for the weaker team, so they often score 1/1 or 2/2, while the stronger team has limited finishing %. It happened to us a couple of times this season, 1st game vs England - 25:2 in shots, 3:1, vs Cymru 22:2 in shots and 2:0, 13:1 and 2:0 vs Denmark, 12:2 and 2:0 vs Colombia.

I didn't calculate it, but from my memory around at least 33% of our goals came from 2 ATT partnership:
a. one ATT passes/heads the ball and second ATT scores
b. one ATT dribbles, ball gets away, second ATT gets to ball and scores
c. first shot of ATT is saved, but the second ATT scores on rebound

So while having +1 DEF or +1 MID would definitely help in many aspects, I'm afraid we could end up with finishing problems. Maybe some idea would be to start with a 541/631 with a conditional order '45 (or '60 etc.) change to 532 tactic, but with such change one of the ATTs would have to play with MID order.

As for the high DEF line, as you said it is a strong point in the way we play, usually, because we by default are supposed to be the more offensive team and opponents tend to concentrate on defence usually and there were many games where we totally locked the opponent on their half of the pitch. I'm still interested though how it will work against a 80+ team, if it will be as consistent.
