You are right generaly, PM is important for def, same as defending for MID, we are aware of that.
But we need to make our decisions, about training reform it was simple - new system is more flexible than it was before = upgrade, limits for training will stay as they where, but we will apply different logic here to have clear rule = passing was blocked for MID, now other skill is, but its 1:1.

So overall, new system is more flexible, probably we can make it more in the future.
That was our decision and we need to move forward - with limited resources and time we cant move back everytime when are some voices to make things different.
When there is a lot of it, we try to react, that's why we decided to finally change training speed and admit that the change was to harsh - but, we need to invest our resources here, so we cannot take to much on our plate. That is why i still denay to cancel that limitations - it is just to small problem globally, compared to many other problems we are facing right now.

We need to make our priorities and decisions, not always everyone will be happy about it, but we need to move forward somehow.
And still, we will for sure make mistakes, and sometimes pick wrong priorities, but overall i think that users opinions where included many times, and so it will.

no, we need a moment to rewrite algoritm, so it can take a while - max 3-4 weeks.

Some thoughs. I have read all the posts, and when i read them as a whole i have a though as a "faulty picture". Let me explain:

- If we wanted "bigger" squads with rotation, training slots should be higher (really higher) like 22. And no, it will not imply going for the market. If a squad needs 22 players (not 11 and 5 trainables as old with some asimetrical speeds.) and 22 are playing games, it doesn't have sense that a player that plays a match does not train. The market or player stability should be ok, because teams would need 22 to play and would produce 22 trainings. The older players will be "dying" and juvenile would replace them.
- Slow training: it's already slowed (by a 25%). Because there are 22 slots. And it should have the speed that the way that an all-around player is impossible (well, it's possible but with lower skills). You should choose how the player will develop to hace different tactic choices. To avoid "my player doesn't pop in anything" more visible levels (more graduation) is a good choice in my point of view
- Do not slow a lot by skill. Why? Because if we slow low-level training a lot and high-skill, there won't be differences on high-skill level players. (all players will be johny-all around). If a player specilices. And having a 22 slot would make that we can specialize on positions: for example a technical winger or a speedy one, that will help to make tactical choices.
-Playmaking shouldn't drop never. And oldie doesn't forget playmaking. And oldies with "residual training" would have a decent playmaking in the long run.
- Physical skills (like stamina or speed) should drop faster on oldies. And oldie doesn't run as fast and cannot take too many minutes unless specifically training it. But it would need their training slot and player should choose to being avoiding droping resistance or speed... The choice on your 22 squad would be using slots to maintain oldies or give a chance to youngsters.. and sell them.
- player talent should be based on skill (but it's not implementable now). It has no sense that a player can learn goalkeeping and scoring with same ability It could be one talent for each skill . I recomend it would be visible.
- Young players (from school) should be really fit: this means: very high stamina and high speed. The other skills could be more "radical" showing their natural talents and less on less natural talents. It would be wise that the maximun skill could depend on age (20 years juniors can have skills higher than 16 yo, exception: stamina and speed).
- Injuries can be long with a big squad, like in real football.
And bigger squads with high level players would have a lot of €€ in salaries, which can reduce inflation, but a smaller squad could have a strong main squad to compete while making youngsters to make national cup, for example, more open.
- Injuries in friendlies should be testimonial ones or very limited (no more than one match). If not, we'll have futsal matches.

- If stamina is used for injuries, and youngs should start with nearly top-class stamina and oldies having to train to maintain, the injury will target "naturally" to oldies without age calculation. They have low stamina and with bad stamina and bad injurie it will be a retirement from football. Injuries should include a stamina reduction by default, and a injury with a really bad stamina level being a very dangerous thing.

About passing and PM, in my opinion, passing is way more important for defenders and I like and I find logical as it's right now, everyone can be trained in passing, even strikers. If defenders has a good level of passing, can help the midfielders to make the ball to go right to left and vice-versa in order to mantain the ball possession. I think that the ME should be correct in order that a low level of playmaking doens't mean a blind defenders, simply it will pass the ball to the closest defender or it try a long ball with all the related risks to losing ball. On the other hand, playmaking is a skill related to midfielder, that should be able to find a pass-through chances, to evaluate correctly a striker offside position or not, evaluate hard-to-find players that are well positioned and so on...

I have a defender that has got unheartly in tech and passing and "only" very good in playmaking. Put as MID order in the centre of the midfield, he's able to make simple passes and avoid pressing. In real life football, defenders just support the ball circulation with simple passes.

I am very happy about the choice to let passing to be universally trained and I hope that it will be mantained as it is.

In fact playmaker include the power to know his own capacities. If a player has divine playmaker but weak passing, he will only do short passings

But, terrion,i say in matches that a high playmaker level with low passing will do passing to the hole ('al hueco') with a terrible accuracy. Playmaking should cap for the own capacities, but i haven't saw that a high playmaker with low passing chooses not to pass because he knows has already low passing :(. And it should. Or it's like you say, but i do not feel the same in my matches (i'm a heavy trainer of passing/play/def)

Mate... you must keep it as it was before the reduction.
You have already ''cut'' the weeks,and if you reduce the higher levels training then we talk about disaster!

Add if you want higher than now skills,but don't change the training as it was.
Why you change something that was fine in game,you guys you are something else ...!

The game having so many probs and you start changing the good parts of the game!!

Probably I didn't explained very well, but this example describe as best what happens with high playmaking and low passing, adding that most of the times defender will throw ball outside. On the other hand, if a defender has high passing and lower playmaking, this doesn't happens, he will find, because of lower playmaking, just easy-to-find players to pass, usually the most close ones and he will perform easy and high precision passing, with a better continuity of the play. I'm pretty sure to be right because I tried to buy def with high playmaking and low passing and vice versa, the def with high pass is way better and it looks like a real defenders. Of course, playmaking should not be too low, I think that at least solid could be good. I invite you to try it.

That's the reason why I think that passing should be left trainable in all the roles, as it is now.

he will also often take too much time to make a decision or even sometimes "freeze" which often ends up with winger/striker stealing the ball and having nobody to stop him (especially if his tech is higher than pm)

We have now ''players-bullets''.They came they training and they leave like a bullet!
Do something for the pop down in older ages if you want .
Make them slower to pop down.

Fix the forms,we training for a years a player and when we finish him he is worthless because of his form!!!!!!
Add new systems in Academies if you want to work in the game.Think about and make a new.

Bring back the old pages in matches,the new one is worthless!!pfff
Let us see at last the National players as National coaches!!!
