7250 of us is still playing this game

Ouch. a 20% drop off in 8 months :(

Now that I am back I'd rather not see the game die off.

20% drop because you are back? :P

This game can't never die. There have a lot of problem with the match engine, befor the 2012 match engine was really good, but is the best manager game with this mistakes too.

Yet...people have their limits.
There are very experienced and outstanding coaches who are fed up with the ME, because of it's ridiculousness.
You can do everything right and be punished by stupidity out of nowhere.
It makes even the greatest tacticians leave the game. I can honestly say that I'm convinced that less than 25% plays the game solely to achieve the best possible spot in the game. Even more so...at least 80% of the manager play the game solely for
1) training and NT
2) training youngsters
3) training own youth players
4) trading and increasing the mountain of gold to sit on
5) NT coaching
6) training the best of the best players to get them (the players, not their team) at the absolute top of the game!
7) the community and forum

I recon around 75 to 80% doesn't care about the position of their team.

I don't have exact numbers or lists or data, so this is all an estimated guess, but if there would be a survey, and it means all 7250 managers...not only the active ones on forum, then I recon I would be close by.
This game is a farcry from what it used to be. We, dinosaurs, stick with it because it is a slow paced game in which we build something up, we know and we like.
But if things turn out to be build up for the game (ME, injuries,...) to crush it like a porcelain vase on a shelf of a racing caravan, then people tend to pull the plug against their will. I don't believe this game has more years to come than it had up to now, if things don't improve fast enough or we, managers have any improvements to look out to.

They had several plans>

1) update flash to html 5: SUCCES!
2) update old pages to new pages: about 60% succes
3) seasons update and league reform: SUCCES
4) training update: SUCCES
5) youth update: still in planning
6) stadium, facilities and staff update: still in planning
7) tactics editor: still in planning
8) ME: postponed untill everything else is done
9) promoting the game: Once the game is updated for about all points, but the ME, this will be first priority
10) bug fixing: loads of bugs still untreated, new bugs coming on weekly basis and old bugs coming back. This point is extremely time consuming and takes away lots of developping time

And then there is the issue of communication...something as key as this is neglected or poorly executed for too many times.
Like I said...people have their limits. this can't continue for years and years to come...

Don't get me wrong... I still LIKE the game very much, but imo, much less as before...

I agree. Majority of the game want to just feel trainers and few play it seriously. Also there's different ways to reach the top and not everyone follows the same path.

But anyways, I think the game really needs more people. Without them, this will feel emptier every time. I have been saying it since I arrived, users have to urge raul or whoever takes decisions to invest in ads asap. I don't care if they are waiting for a renovation or whatever. Bring more people now and more people later!

I agree with you. I personally don't care that they'll be adjusting the price for Plus - I will buy it anyway as I want to keep supporting the game. But it seems obvious that they're doing it out of necessity caused by managers, and therefore also Plus payers, diminishing.

In my opinion, they should've focused a lot more on updating the rules, improving the newbie experience and attracting new users continually, regardless of ongoing development. Then there would be more of us to pay for the party (servers, development etc.). Instead, we're restlessly waiting for a finish line that seems like a Fata Morgana right now. I still appreciate the effort, though ;o)

agree!

The game engine, the game graphics, a little more realism in the game such as movement without a ball, etc....
I can give you countless more improvements, I played this game in 2006, retired in 2011, and came back in 2022.
I was super surprised , almost nothing has changed, the game is very outdated and many things must be improved.
It doesn't mean I don't like the game, I like it and that's why I'm here, but it's progressing and improving at a very slow pace..

hope for the best :)

It's like the chicken and the egg, you have to pay more for them to improve?
Or will they improve first and automatically more people will buy Plus?

I personally bought Plus from the beginning and will continue to buy and supportt, but to tell the truth it is quite understandable that fewer and fewer people buy and leave.
first of all - they must make significant improvements
2023-09-23 20:16:04
They obviously don't have enough resources to further improve the game in decent tempo... looks at first years after takeover, there were actual changes - now for a whole season we got change of... season exepectations. Anybody needed that? :-)
2023-09-23 20:20:27
to tell you the truth? In the 10-11 years I haven't been here since I left, I really really expected a lot more. Maybe it's just me...
there are a lot of small changes they can add that are not related to the budget, I'm not talking about improving a game engine and making FIFA graphics, but there's no shortage of things to improve bro

Well...I must say...there are relatively new devs since 2019 and tjey actually succeeded to save the game from a certain death! Flash was about to be killed by the internet and they managed to rewrite all flash code into html5.
So ypu can imagine how high and euforic we were when they introduced themselves and managed to pull that off!
But since then, things went somewhat sideways. Communication started to fall back and we didn't really know what to expect.
I like the season and training changes, but the bugs came and took over their scedule...
And then different things were neglected, simply because lack of time.

I have all respect for rheir work, but listening to the people once in a while couldn't hurt.
There are managers in game who are willing to help them, but they are kept in the dark.
It's their choice, but it's ours to stay or leave.

Well, I agree with you in so many points.

We organised a Sokker Cups in IRL in Hungary, who had a Sokker team, they could have came to the Cups, and did a random teams, and knew each other. Some of them became my friends. Some of them steyed here for the community and the forum or train players.

About my side I can said, I fall in love into this game, when I saw the tactical options, as I can coordinate every player on the field, and this is much better then the ofline Foootball Manager series, where I can't creat a Wib-Wob tactics.

After 2012 the ME changed. I sold my players and only trained palyers, because I was really angry for the new ME. after 20-30 seasons. I started to play agains for 5 seasons on club level again. Because I liek this game, thats true I have bad nature, because sometimes I am really hot-headed, and after I have a bad match, I write bad things, but after 2-3 hour I calmed down.

About the new training system is really good, but how I can see the skins and pages, it is not important for me so much only 20%.

New managers in sokker, and how they can keep here?

I feel the younger generation would like get result easier or faster. We got only 0.25 million euro, when we started the game at 2006. This is nothing, with really shit squad. I had an experience from another maanger game and read the rules and asked a lot of questions on the forum. After then I only bought 10 defenders to train. But nobody folow this way.

I would give a more money for the starters for exemple with 1 million euro or 1.5 million euro with a tutorial project. If the newbies finish the tutorial project they could get this money.

I joined this game in 2005/2006 and I left in 2012 because I was fed up with the lack of progress and general attitude of the owners.
I came back 3 months ago, assuming that things must have improved. They have not.
The lack of progress from 2006 is simply astonishing and whereas once upon a time this game was held together by the community, even that community has now given up trying to improve it. No doubt realising that their effort and ambition was wasted when faced with reality.
Apathy, unfortunately, is infectious.
