Doesn't have the passing or playmaking to play midfield. He could have, but doesn't mean he should when he's a natural centre back.
Pace and defending and he walks into the U-21's.

I've not trained him passing yet!

I seem to have quite a few defenders in my side, so it would be nice to train a midfielder!!

Decisions..

With training he's a high 50, low 60 midfielder at most. He's a 70+ defender.

What I'd be looking to do is rotate between pace, tech and defence over 2 seasons to try and get them roughly the same. Let general training take care of Passing and Playmaking.

and 2007 sides were better than 2004 sides that had to beat bots for the title ;)

I believe you finished ahead of Mcoi once and once only.

I'm not going to verify that by looking through old leagues.
