Bryan Robson naar Iedereen
I have 2 Liddell's in my junior team, i heard that there was only 1 'exact' sirname for every sirname, so does this mean i have been that lucky that ive plucked 2 in-a-row per season?
Or have they changed this feature?, so there are more 'common' sirnames than obscure 1's :)

Are you asking if there can only be one player with any given surname at one time? If so, then no.

There's a database of surnames and another of forenames for England. When players are created in England they are randomly given a forename and surname.

NB: As I understand it there is only 1 entry of each surname/forename in the database no matter how rare or common the name is in rl, but that doesn't mean the same name can't randomly be allocated twice in succession. That's the nature of random allocations :)

Well explained :-) i was struggling to word it correctly.

I was'nt but thats cool, i was trying to clarify if indeed its per season but with what you've said it isnt even that, so it was pretty mad, but you are then saying its even possible to get 2 in same season or 3 but the odds of that are very high. id love it even more if there were more smiths browns etc :)

the common names thing has been discussed a lot, but the database only allows one entry of each name, so the odds are the same for any name.

how about we start adding initials? if we had A. Brown, B. Brown, C. Brown, etc then we could have a much more representative names database.

In fact, who is in charge of names these days? can i do it? can i can i can i... pleeeeeeeeeeeeaze?

Yes, above comments correct. 2 Liddels is just "luck".

Clever idea to make "brown" more popular, however it would have some flaws. Doing that would give names like Trevor A.Brown

However....... I think you'd then get A.Brown appearing as the player name in the game on screen, which would look a bit pants.

A few of us can change - I can for example, from my legacy role as moderator. If I wasn't being shouted at by my missus to look after the kids I'd post a link now....

I don't want G. Brown...

That's nothing! When I joined I had 2 "Cloud"'s in my team, and my first junior: Chris Cloud

:P

i thought that's how it works when you have two players with the same name at a club in RL? add a space so that its A. Brown and i think it would look ok

Only thing about initialling names like that, is I think it causes problems when searching by player name.

Has anyone ever heard of this sirname! In RL or Sokker - Ollie Featherstonehaugh :D never seen that sirname in 9 years, Featherstone ok but what is the haugh about lol.

Has someone recently added this? who would that person be?

But I currently have 2 Goodship's in my junior squad, they haven't needed another letter or space just different 1st name. lol resuming a comment from 6 years ago :)

Anybody got any nice English footballer surnames In there junior schools yet? ;) I have a Greenhoff and Huddlestone, Gkimber has a Kevin Keegan!!! :) that's a 175 x 963 = 168,875/1 chance of coming in!

Good if there decent enough to keep, and really nice if they come out the School a decent player.

Konchesky it's rare and a "United" one, isn't it?
I'm wrong it was Kanchelskies. Konchesky it's the Leicester winger
