Just the one new junior this week........

My juniors look great until l try to translate that into senior football. My net loss over the last couple of seasons is £120k per campaign. My best young player is one l bought in and trained up. I have all magical coaching staff, but still less than one player per season that is worth training. It is not working for me, and it is not like l haven’t taken time and trouble over it. I have no idea what to do next; l am at my lowest position in the league for a long time, a level l never dropped to before l had a junior school, and l am selling players as l have run out of money.
Not a great advertisement for junior schools, but that is my reality. And don’t tell me about your three million pound kids, l have never had one. I thought l would have had an England u21 international by now, but no chance of that either. I may have four worthwhile prospects in the junior school, so hopefully l can hang on in there.

The whole point of having a youth school is that one lucky pull will cover the expenses for x/xx seasons. Plus the fact that you can train your own youth to be a top player, if someone cares about that.

The problem is that you can have terrible youths for 2 or 3 years, so it's a long-term investment.

Still, with lower number of users, in my opinion it's worth having a youth school because the prices of good 16-17yo youths improved a lot, people pay 20+ millions for top youths.

I definitely wouldn't close the YS now since a new seasons starts in a couple of weeks and that's when you can get the most valuable youths (16yo high level with 2-5 weeks). And even if someone doesn't have a YS it's work to open it for the initial 3-4 weeks to see if you get a lucky top 16yo.

Yes that’s the theory l have been working to. The economics of the game for me means that l need at least a break-even on transfers as l am losing money in a usual week. How the hell do people make millions in this game? Some people clearly do.

Keep at it mate.. keep training and producing as you do..improve coaches.. and it's not just about juniors..
I buy cheaper younger players to train and sell for a profit.. once you get on board you will know ;)

I do need to trim some but there's a cluster of pretty decent players in there. There's good reason for my lot consistently getting the highest ratings in the junior league.
