I always try to play against other opponents in friendly matches, this time was no different. This is my first match against Zhōngguó.
I've created something new for this match, I want to see different set-ups, I also want to improve my efficiency, so I'm hoping for a lot of goals from our side.
For such a line-up, our opponents are ranked very poorly. They are not a weak team, so you have to be careful - because they have someone to scare you offensively.
I know the rivals' coach well. He is an experienced coach who has been playing since 2012, having spent 3 seasons in Zhōngguó and a post-season with teams such as Severna Makedonija,Hong Kong U21 and Việt Nam U21.
The plan for this match is very simple, to win as high as possible and not lose a goal in the process.

A lot of situations created, a lot wasted.... But summing up the whole match we played correctly.
4 yellows and 1 red card at the rival and 2 yellow cards at us. That red card was after an action by Miller, who they fouled in the penalty area - which we didn't take advantage of.
I am most pleased with the midfielders in this match, a lot of nice balls played.... happy with the win and next week we will play our last friendly game of the season. In 2 weeks we kick off with the U27 tournament.

Yay Miller got some game time :)

I think next to Scotland it is also an interesting opponent. User gruchalus_88 has been playing sokker since 2017 and has led the Irish national team since 2020, this is his 12th season with the team.
He has put together an interesting team this season and finished 3rd in the Mini World Cup tournament.
I have huge respect for this user and I am hoping for a good game on Saturday. Last friendly game of the season. For a win England!!! ❤

Defeat. One of the most boring games I've played. A very strategic game.
Few situations on both sides, very good defensive play. That's what I was aiming for. Again not taking advantage of our situations. The match might as well have ended 4:2 for us. Because we completed so many important situations in this match.
I liked the defence in this match and some individual scores. Congratulations to Ireland's coach for the win and apologies to all for the result.
In a week's time we play the u27 tournament, these could be difficult matches.

I thought if they had an "English" goalkeeper it would be easier for us, well... :p
As for next week. We start the U27 tournament with FLOW B. I was expecting quite a different organisation for this tournament. It turned out that we are only in a group with one team.
My excitement for this tournament has sunk to the bottom and I am considering participating in future editions, I would prefer to play against someone from the TOP 10 of the ranking. What do you guys think?

I think it’s up to you, but 1 team in the group with you seems a bit silly.

I have the impression that there is less and less interest in this tournament. Or if someone signs up they don't line up the U27 squad and then there are a lot of walkovers.
I don't know what to do, obviously this season will play out to the end. I just hope we don't have the same opponent for the next six weeks :-)

All you can do in that instance is play around with different tactics?
