THE "IT'S COMING HOME" PROJECT aims to create an incentive for the local community to train players from their country and also aims to increase the number of juniors in our school and improve their quality.
If we want to be the best we have to start training like the best. To make this happen, I invite everyone to read this content.
Increasing the number of juniors in our school and improving their quality will give us more choice in NT and U21.
To become the best team in the game, we have to start at the beginning, which is the ability to pick the right players and select the right training for them.

STEP 1. Junior School


As a manager, you have the opportunity to set up a junior school(JS). This is a place where young players gain experience and skills to be able to perform on league pitches.
To do this, make sure your budget is good enough to get an extra coach for the JS and that his salary is enough to get you through the sokker weeks.
If you don't have the right budget it's not the time for you yet.
You need to assign a youth coach to ensure that your juniors are trained. His general appraisal will determine how quickly the juniors will improve their skills. He will also decide when a player is ready for testing in the first team line-up. Your junior coach’s general skill decides on how accurately the general skill of each junior is estimated. The higher the coach level, the more exact the junior level determined. Also, the more matches your junior plays, the more adequately the coach knows his total skill and shows it to you.
What is the best coach to start with? Brilliant(14) level is the absolute minimum you should have when running JS, Magical(15) level is the level I currently have - and that's the one I personally recommend to everyone and for the best coaches, and the most expensive choice is - Unearthly(16). Important to remember: for junior coach the general appraisal and low wage are important, NOT the skills!!

Brilliant(14) Max wage: £21 600
Magical(15) Max wage: £26 400
Unearthly(16) Max wage: £35 999

How do you hire a coach? You have two options, to bid in the auction or to recruit in the form.

Coach recruitment

If you are using transfer lists, focus on those parameters I have given above. However, if you want to try recruitment, here some of the ways I use.
It could be quite hard to find a coach exactly matching your reqirements. The more precise the definition, the lower chance to find the exact skills you need.
Cost of recruitment depends on the number and the quality of selected skills. You'll never be sure of hitting perfect draws, so it's risky!

If you already have a coach, you are one step away from creating a JS!! Now you should allocate a set number of places some of which may be occupied by your juniors and some may be vacant to allow new juniors to come to the school. The maximum number of places that could be allocated is 30. Every week(SATURDAY) new players may join the school, provided there are some vacant places. The number of new players joining the school in a week is between 0 to a maximum of 6. If the free places are not enough to allocate the applicants, some of them will be turned down, but you will never know who was rejected…They could have been a useless youth or a potential star for your team. Each junior in the school costs £600. Having 30(maximum number) of them + the cost of the coach's salary. The weekly JS total can cost around 66k€ - 90k€.

The distribution of individual skills is set for each junior when he comes to your junior team; each individual skill grows proportionally with the overall skill when your junior trains each week. Their talent and the coaches general efficiency determine how fast they develop and whether they will be valuable players after leaving the school. Whether a junior plays or not in a match does not affect his training - he always will get full training.


STEP 2. Players


First you have to sort out your players. Of course, I encourage you to train English players. That's the only way to increase the chances of a better ENGLAND!
Keep these skills in mind when you sell/fire players and buy new ones:

Position = Main Skills - (Recommended Skills) - ((Useful Skills))
GK = keeper, pace - (passing, stamina)
DEF = defender, pace, technique, stamina - (playmaker, passing)
MID = playmaker, passing, pace, stamina - (technique, defender) - ((striker))
ATT = striker, technique, pace, stamina - (playmaker, passing) - ((defender))

STEP 3. Training


TRAINING:
To develop the skills of your players, you can take advantage of the several training options available. The optimal choice of training settings and the correct assignment of players to the right rosters will be key to achieving success and training your own star players.
Remember that the ultimate success is greatly influenced by a player's talent, which is an individual and secret skill. Its value can only be estimated by observing training progress.

ADVANCED TRAINING:
The most effective training to rapidly develop selected skills for selected players.
- Available for up to 10 players in a given week.
- Requires assigning a player to the advanced training list and selecting the formation with which he will train.
- The player will intensively train the skill indicated for the selected formation in the "PLAN YOUR PLAYERS' TRAINING" table. Other skills will be developed only slightly.
- The effectiveness depends on the number of minutes played in the week before training (the preceding Friday to Wednesday) in official, friendly and national team matches.
- If there are no minutes played in the selected position, the player will receive advanced training at 50%.
- The real increase in a player's skills depends on the coaching staff, with the value of the coached skill with the head coach having the greatest influence, followed by the sum of the overall level of the assistant coaches.

FORMATION TRAINING:
In order to ensure the development of players who did not catch the advanced training, formation training is available, which is much less effective, but still allows some progress to be made and, very importantly for older players, prevents a decline of skills.
- Training is available to all players who have not been selected for advanced training and who have played at least one match in the week prior to training (any range of minutes).
- Requires the player to be assigned a formation to train with.
- The player will moderately train the skill indicated for the selected formation in the "PLAN YOUR PLAYERS' TRAINING" table. Other skills will be developed to a minor effect.
- The effectiveness depends on the number of minutes played in the week before training (the preceding Friday to Wednesday) in official, friendly and national team matches.
- In case of a shortage of minutes in the selected position, the player will not train.

TYPE OF TRAINING VERSUS FORMATIONS:
Player skills are divided into two categories, positional and complementary.
Positional skills can only be trained for the formations corresponding to them, namely:
- Keeper - GK (goalkeeper)
- Defending - DEF (defender)
- Playmaking - MID (midfielder)
- Striker - ATT (striker)

Complementary skills, i.e. Stamina, Pace, Technique, Passing, can be assigned to any formation and will be trained with the same effect for each formation.*

EFFECTIVENESS:
In order to manage the training of your players more easily, you can use the information about the projected training effectiveness.
For this purpose, there are two additional columns in the training menu:
- Games (matches)-which indicates how many minutes on the formation selected for training and in which type of matches the player has played since the previous training. The higher the total minutes, the higher the training efficiency will be.
- Eff. (Efficiency) - indicates the projected training efficiency with the chosen formation. The higher the value, the higher the skill gain.
If the Eff. column shows "!", try to better adjust the position assignment or field the player in an extra match.
Remember that ultimately the speed of player development is also determined by talent and the quality of the coaching staff.

STEP 4. Questions and extra knowledge

87.5% of users have a junior nursery from the TOP 4 leagues in England. This is a very good result. I didn't expect such a good result, if we already have such a record it's enough to check that surely everyone knows how it should all look in the staff - i.e. what kind of coach we have or can afford etc.
Two users own junior schools but either have no owner or are close to bankruptcy. If this is the case, I need to write to the administration to log into their account and list all those juniors who are there on the transfer list.
They are wasting players and need to react as soon as possible - they could be key players at the U21 World Cup, who knows.

I decided to waste no time and launch the project now. I'll do more statistics in the next few days, I'd like to find out who is training what formations and can train. There are a lot of things that need to be taken into my own hands and I hope that all of you here will help me with that.
I would really appreciate it.
I will already write to the administration tomorrow to do something about those juniors who are "blocked" because no player can be wasted.
Then we will check who have what coaches in the junior school and if they know everything about it :-)

You will find that most have incredible/Brilliant coaching staff, they then say they can't afford it , because they'd rather have a strong team, they don't see how quickly you can reap the rewards.

then you get a club like chuck norris who seemingly never gets a decent junior , well he sold then under old training rules you could only train one position, he'll be keeping his decent juniors now I am sure, so he's a +1 and has the staff

*We will only get better as a country if most have magical+ staff then we can keep our talent and come together training our needs

Since I've found out that you know England's U21 team like the back of your hand I'll ask if you've ever checked with users what coaches are on their staffs?
Because if you are right and most of these users will have such coaches the point of having a junior nursery drops to the lowest level it can be :)

I've asked all that was in the past but not for many years, many newer users I've not asked , quite a few newer teams are actually older users that have returned, some older users have outstanding staff as do newer users there focus is more on winning games, my thinking would be they need to gamble !

My junior squad hasn't been a hotbed of decent players. Been possibly 6 in 4 years which isn't a great return.

Poor junior selection on saturdays could be the problem here. Have you ever watched a junior develop in the nursery on thursdays? Some players come at the beginning of the intake as "good" and "solid" and then after a few weeks turn out to be talentless.
The key is observation! So I encourage everyone to paste their juniors from the nursery and analyse them together here :-)

Let me give you an example... you put your first junior up for sale in 2019, so I'm assuming you've owned a junior school continuously since then.
Since then, you have earned almost €6 million.
I have earned almost €28 million since 2020 and with my luck this is a really good result. Maybe you're a little less lucky than me or you need to think about whether it's worth keeping your current juniors.

I don't have the statistics on that... But I have noticed that quite a few people are dropping out of the junior school and I am not surprised because as you say for the last 4 years you have had 6 valuable players.
Now that they have shortened the season by a few weeks, this is even more difficult to do.
That's why I want to compile statistics and see who is training how. Maybe someone will take something valuable away from this topic and it will be useful to them in their training. I am collecting data from users in England.... but so far not many people are writing back, so it's hard to offer help when someone does not want to accept it :)

Thanks for this Antos. I have now hired a brilliant coach for my junior school and an outstanding coach for the main team to replace two solid coaches, whom I've sacked and demoted my two excellent coaches to assistants.

So far my school has mostly produced fat, uncoordinated fools but I had a better one recently…
