Bryan Robson naar Iedereen
After watching this piece I have changed who I think are the best 11 all time players in my time which is say 6 years after your born, for me is 1978-

https://www.youtube.com/v/33SO7gMfkQk

----------------------------Peter The Great----------------------------

Cafu----------------Baresi--------------Cannavaro----------Maldini

---------------------------------------Zidane--------------------------
Messi----------------Seedorf---------------------------Ronaldinho
----------------------------------------Maradona---------------------
------------------------------Baggio----------------------------------

Bench
Buffon
Passarella
Chellini
Carlos
Robson
CR7
Henry
Ronaldo
Van Basten

Shearer was world class [1 premiership title] and those in my list had something extra he'll tell you that himself, he himself was a hard man a bit too much sometimes.
Pep also agrees, Baggio was the best, he had more input in matches than Maradona.

I like your team BR, it's very good. I'm a big fan of Franco Baresi, what a player he was!! He always seemed one step ahead and his well time challenges were fantastic. However, less sure about Clarence Seedorf. Good player for sure but wouldn't make my best 11...

Same about R.Baggio. In fact, there are a few players in this 11 that are in a simillar situation. Passarella, Schmeichel and even Cafu. Maldini is deffo a first 11 but, let's not forget he was not really a great left-back. Passarella, great leadership qualities but as a defender he was more of a butcher, accepted at the time. Schmeichel had plenty of games in which he made mistakes. Cafu was playing with number 11 for a reason, as a defender he wasn't so great.
In my opinion it is impossible to squeeze 11 players in an all-time team. It is probably better to have a best 11 for a certain decade. Football has changed over years, a good GK nowadays has to have the passing boots on, for example.
We forget players like Garrincha, Kempes, Fontaine, Gerd Muller, Pele, Platini, Romario, Buffon, Beckenbauer, Savicevic, Hagi, Stoichkov, Ronaldo, Cruyff, Simonsen, Di Stefano, Puskas, Roberto Carlos, Jorginho (the Brazilian RB), Jurgen Kohler, Matthaus, Klinsmann, Brehme, Van Basten and the list could go on forever. There's a youtube clip for each of them that would make you pick them for the best 11.

Bryan, why do you have so many Italian football players?
2024-01-27 18:11:37
Absolutely. It's far too difficult to squeeze 11 players into the best team. I think it would be impossible to agree...

I think BR was choosing his best 11 from when he's pretty much been watching football, so I'm not sure the like's of Garrincha, Fontaine & Di Stefano etc would have been playing then. Although they were all magnificent players, agreed!

Personally, I've always been a huge fan of Brazilian Ronaldo (Luís Nazário de Lima). He was such a great player to watch....

This conversation could run forever, as there's simply so many amazing players. :)

I wonder who you guys would see as an English player who could make the list, let's say from 2000 onwards to make it a bit narrower

obviously it would still be crazy hard to get a definitive 11, but I always liked Ashley Cole on the left back, one of the best in last 20 years for sure.

always adored Shearer as well since Newcastle was my fav team, obviously crazy number for playing in such mediocre at most times team, you don't have many class strikers at his level in last couple of years

Rooney perhaps a good name to throw in, Terry/Ferdinand as well?

as for midfield, Gerrard/Lampard/Scholes - never could decide which of the three was the best of them

who's Scholes?
2024-01-28 10:16:01
Did you not watch him? click on the link, i already rated him in my top 20 all time, but now inserted in my top 11, he was a Brazilian in Dutch clothes, his touch is Ronaldinho, he beats his man every time with perfect skills and technique , i could not take my eyes of it for 1 second, watch it , the post says no current midfielder is close to Seedorf
2024-01-28 10:16:49
Scholes is dust in Seedorf's presence
2024-01-28 10:20:39
Peter the great was massive presence a man mountain, loud, scary, and made the goal small, he won the European cup with Denmark and 5 premiership titles, i think we'd of won 3 or 4 less without him, Buffon not as physically daunting, played in a worse league, longevity made him look better than he was, I rated mr elastic more [Seaman]

I remember these 2 saves Seaman and Peter made but can't find them, they were the 2 best saves I have ever seen, i think they played for Villa and City at the time so they were both old then.
Seaman's mistake vs Ronaldinho and Njiam will forever mess him up being the greatest.
But Baggio's missed penalty hampers him when it 100% shouldn't, if he scored he'd be in every ones 11, which is just beyond stupid

Rooney was top notch around 20yo but we live in a time of stats ruling , Seedorf a perfect example when stats did not rule but watching him you just knew he was a cut above the rest.

Gk: Chris Cole
Defs: Andrew Morgan, Gary Munroe, Declan Collymore
Mids: Neil Ronaldo Jr, Trevor Yeboah, Andrew Matthews
Att: Mason McNeil, Lewis Macleod, Sean Bergkamp, Jason Ferguson

Matthews, Cole, McNeil and Macleod are the only ones playing for NT. Cole and McNeil being the real stars.

Current team? Think I'll struggle to put together that much of an 11!

If bring in Mcoi players, it's rememebering them all. The only player I can think of which would get in an all time junior XI from the current side combining with the old would be my current GK, purely as I have no memory of ever having a semi decent home grown GK before.

Your allowed to use your old team

*I bet Piotr has a cracking side
