You're right but most of their points come from the rating diff not my added calculations. In fact, from my added calcs, they get 0 points. They haven't got any points away, nor scored 3+ goals.
Now, the rating diff is huge for them, 38.5 for the two games they played (21.2 + 17.3). Their defeats should've been even heavier, maybe something like 15-0 down on both. I think the points they've got show their resilience.
Soon, they will start playing other teams closer to their markings. Even if they win, 1-0 let's say, their reward is not going to be so rich. But if they lose, they will probably achieve even less.

I think it's because I put a maximum limit on the ratings differential. It's maxxed out at 10, so the small teams don't benefit too much despite getting hammered and the big teams don't get punished too much for being strong.

oops, I didn't know you had a cap on ratings, I worked it out without. So Timisoara would get 21.2*0.25 points.

In the same time, I didn't work out with any cap on goals either, so their defeat at 9 goals diff was taken away.

If when they play Corvin, they win 1-0 at home, they get 2.5p from rating diff, 0.25 from goal diff, 3p for the win = 5.75. If it's away, 6.75. Totally deserved considering the rating is -10.
If they draw at home, 1-1, they get 1p for the draw, plus 2.5 = 3.5. Away: 4p
If they lose at home, 0-1, they get 2.5p for ratings minus 0.25 goal.= 2.25 Away, the same.

So, soon as the ratings diff drops, they won't get as much if they don't win/draw. But with such low ratings, you'd expect the worse from them. Their ability to limit the score is giving them points in the meantime. That's what is all about, closing the gap.

On the other hand, if they underperform against Jotun, they get a lot of points deducted.

Your cap at 10 is actually a really good idea. But it'd have to be the same for goal diff. I might implement it.

That might be an idea. I'll test it out later.

It's advantage Thamesmead, btw. I've tried it, it's not the best solution. It gives a lot of advantage to the top ratings teams being capped at -2.5. While a 20 rating diff takes away from them 5p. They'd have to score 20 goals to get those points back.
