Yeah, they've not been their best. However, I've not been blown away by Italy either so I've no idea which way this one would go. My guess would be Italy but we will see...

Hoping for a good game :)

Phew!

Wow, what a game!! Another very late goal.

I feel sorry for the Croations, losing out in that manner but that's football!

Croatia played really well, Morris is still such a classy player (penalty miss aside). The Italian goal was fantastic and came out of npthomg really.

Yeah, Modric is a great player still. Disappointed for him to potentially be going out like that but these things happen in football.

I thought Croatia edged the game and again I've not been too impressed by Italy. I'm sure they'll improve. Zaccaghi's goal was sublime. What a lovely finish.

I still cannot believe they beat us in the final last time, they were not a great team imo but Southgate was so negative in the final. The change in formation and early goal killed us!
2024-06-25 11:29:49
I felt we should have never lost that game. That was when I completely lost faith with Southgate. We're at home and had the players capable of winning. The Italian side was good but not nearly as strong as previous tournaments, in my opinion!

It was a great opportunity missed for us!

Fingers crossed we can make amends this time round!

Apparently the only change is going to be Gallagher in place of Trent, that should fix everything, right?

Anyway, should be enough for a win today, too big gap in quality to mess that up.

Foden on the left again? That motherfucker Southgate just doesn't learn.
2024-06-25 15:05:52
I understand that he wants Foden in, but it’s fitting round pieces into square holes…

If anything I’d try:

————Kane———-
Gordon-Foden-Saka
—Bellingham-Rice—

Leaves a lot of bench options open, with Eze/Palmer/Bowen for the three spots behind Kane

And honestly I’d love to see Wharton in the midfield duo at some point, but I doubt that will happen.

Still baffled by the fact that Southgate brought only one actual left back and the one that was still not ready to play. Not much to choose from admittedly, but I’d rather have a fit Hall (even as sub option) on the left than rely on out of form and out of position Trippier.

Poor Phil, I hope he'll cope. He only played 87 games on the left out of his 270 games for City. Scored 26 goals and assisted 19. But when Southgate puts him on the left, Phil steps on his laces. Damn you, Gareth!

I would have said Livramento but he's injured.

Yep that's basically the lineup everyone is asking for.

If trent isnt playing mid, ill Even pick him over trippier on left. Or walker left, trent right....
2024-06-25 21:07:01
Yeah, kinda agree!

I wouldnt have Gallagher over Trent. In fact, I'm not sure I'd even have taken Gallagher in the first place.

Will Southgate give Palmer a run out tonight?
2024-06-25 21:55:29
Surely Maddison has to come on at HT
2024-06-25 22:03:32
Well he's taken off Gallagher, who had a mare! But Mainoo? We will see...

Maddison is out injured. He strained his hair during the lead up to the tournament, so had to drop out!
