I'm about to bust through $200m in total transfers. Is anyone close to that total?

no:

Transfers income: 8 288 259 $ average 148 005 $ (56 of sales)
Transfers expenses: 197 037 $ average 8 567 $ (23 of purchases)
2009-05-19 00:04:26
not even close.

Transfers income: 12 796 623 $ average 103 199 $ (124 of sales)
Transfers expenses: 6 697 944 $ average 66 317 $ (101 of purchases)
profit/loss: 6 098 679 $ average 36 883 $

Not really but i'm proud of this....

Transfers expenses: 62 416 000 $ average 2 713 740 $ (23 of purchases)

impressive, im probably in 2nd with $130M, quite a big gap, and looks like other MLers are only about $80Mish

I like buying and selling big dollar players, and then losing money on them. It is a strategy. Didn't work last season, though. I have better hopes this time, though. By the end of the month, I will not have a starter older than 23 (one trainee, two non-trainees will be that age). And not one non-trainee will have a primary stat below unearthly. I'm changing strategy - each of them will be on my team until they die off or until I get silly money and have nothing else to spend it on than upgrades.

I've got about $18m in sales left, not including Sesa. That puts me at about $225m or so. Won't be much change other than trainees selling for a while.

Oh, you guys and your transfer activity.... :)

Transfers income: 7 508 497 $ average 92 698 $ (81 of sales)
Transfers expenses: 49 250 $ average 12 313 $ (4 of purchases)
profit/loss: 7 459 247 $ average 80 385 $

What I find amazing is that jon and I started at roughly the same time in Sokker, and even though we went down very different paths, here we both are in A-league.

(Granted, jon has had a LOT more seasons in ML than I have - but still!!!) :)

I think it speaks to the quality of the game when two players can approach the game so differently, and yet both have reasonable success along each way. Whether you primarily wheel 'n' deal or invest in the youth squad, you can succeed - as long as you do it effectively (and in tandem with tactics, training, etc.).

let's see...given current status...

Transfers income: 4 332 523 $ average 55 546 $ (78 of sales)
Transfers expenses: 667 653 $ average 10 598 $ (63 of purchases)
profit/loss: 3 664 870 $ average 44 948 $

...factoring in how long i've been in sokker...

i may make it before i die. (on the other hand...if i can keep this profit margin, i won't mind)

I like the transfer market, but really have no idea how to play soccer IRL, so my tactics suck. That said, if I hadn't lost my best midfielder for 5 weeks last season to an NT injury AND hadn't put my b-team in against the 7th place team, I'd still be in the ML, I think.

But then again, dropping down has allowed me to play games in the transfer market in a way I'd never have been able to if I was still in the ML. The midfield I am about to have would have been suicidal in the ML....

Great observation about the game! Shame I did not notice that before but your team is sort of like Athletic Bilbao of America which is admirable and should be praised.

Transfers income: 21 162 717 $ average 230 030 $ (92 of sales)
Transfers expenses: 19 588 189 $ average 296 791 $ (66 of purchases)
profit/loss: 1 574 528 $ average -66 761 $
2009-05-19 15:19:56
Statistics:
Transfers income: 197 509 479 $ average 992 510 $ (199 of sales)
Transfers expenses: 169 661 019 $ average 1 824 312 $ (93 of purchases)
profit/loss: 27 848 460 $ average -831 802 $

The income is not including Sesa's $10m sale (or the other $17m I'm about to get from the other two sales I haven't put up yet), and the upcoming purchase of a trainee for $6.5m.
2009-05-19 17:13:11
will you top $200m in expenses this season as well?
2009-05-19 18:04:42
I was thinking I was doing pretty good with over 100 million. Then I realized you were just talking about "income". I've done all right in the profit portion.

Transfers income: 56 016 333 $ average 441 074 $ (127 of sales)
Transfers expenses: 42 276 000 $ average 621 706 $ (68 of purchases)
profit/loss: 13 740 333 $ average -180 632 $
2009-05-19 18:07:25
profit/loss portion doesnt necessarily reflect success though, and im a prime example. im -6.5M and still have 4M in the bank to toy with

It reflects success in making money, but not winning games. Depends what your goals are. I change mine depending on which ones I'm currently achieving. :)
