Onderwerp: [NT] USA vs Dominican Republic

2011-11-01 19:11:52
okay well I'm going to rest our team this week to try and avoid any injuries before the cup

Wth? How is that productive? Llama they do not need rest, they are pixels not people. Yeah you can avoid injury by maybe not playing the top keeper, but not playing a match does nothing to help you stay in top 32.

2011-11-01 19:15:58
You can avoid injuries by arranging an U25 or U24 match mate. Not playing is not a good option if you ask me.
2011-11-02 03:20:16
our rank doesn't fluctuate either way if we don't play though...so not playing just doesn't change it for the time being.
2011-11-02 03:30:36
Bullsh*t. Don't you think the other teams that are playing gain and lose points? Do you actually believe anything you are saying? You could easily move up or drop a spot based on results.

Hey, you are only burying yourself because you listen to no one who has more experience. Dag or Slammmy give me advice, I am taking it, not fighting it. Oh but wait, you are the king of the B league... silly me, if anyone knows mediocrity it is the Lame-a, err Llama. Bada-da :)

BUT I WAS TOLD I WAS THE KING OF MEDIOCRITY?!?!
2011-11-02 04:22:18
Yes so we could move up or down.
2011-11-02 10:51:37
so basically you're putting USA's ranking in the hands of the other teams around us instead of you know... playing a match to increase our ranking.

You're not even trying is the part that gets me.

^^^ THIS!!

Llama, despite being told the importance of the ranking for the WC draw, you just continue to not care and do things your way. You have lost my support, you are doing a terrible job, and you don't give a care. One of the teams below you, I think it is Bulgaria, are playing the same team you barely beat last week that is ranked poorly. Let's see how he plays it. I suspect he won't concede 4 goals and need last minute luck to win an easy match.

Anyone know the last time a NT manager decided to be too lazy to play a friendly?

LLAMA out next season!

sticking with giving our guys a rest

I talked to the norge coach and we agreed to play young teams this week.

I'm sorry for upsetting you guys but I just wanted to give myself the best shot at the world cup and after losing 3 starters to injury in my league game, I know anything can happen at any point.

sticking with giving our guys a rest

No one questioned that, it was the not playing at all that was questioned.
2011-11-02 21:05:15
I was just having some difficulty finding someone to agree to playing youngsters.

The teams I talked to didn't agree to that and so that's why I said I'd rather not play a game than play our guys and risk injuries

Not what you said at first. You may want to communicate things better....

just wanted to keep things interesting :)

How else am I supposed to keep these forums active and people caring about the NT?

Even if you think I'm a complete failure as a coach, you gotta admit this is the most interest people have shown in the NT
2011-11-03 03:39:31
By being constructive and not being a d***. It is getting old, really old. I am serious, you are losing my support. Cut the bullshit and be straight shooter.

Just like last season, you think you are being funny, NO ONE outside of you is laughing as the team drops in the rankings because of you trying to out-think the ME, and keep thinking these are human players.

Yep, "don't be a d***" is always great advice.

When I first started playing there was an English guy managing the NT that had some amazing results, the interest level then was a lot higher than it is now iirc.

In other words you don't need a bunch of contrived bickering and BS to make people pay attention. Get some good results, beat some teams you're not supposed to, beat the crap out of the teams you should. And along the way make the community feel involved by making some interesting posts about the games or just in general responding to advice or criticism with legitimate answers. Most people aren't going to chip in with their 2 cents if they know it's just going to lead to a pointless bang-your-head-against-a-wall argument.

The funny part is that I think llama's taking some good advice to heart privately while arguing over every last detail publicly. Recent tactics have been solid, outside of the last friendly, and I'm pretty sure the relatively solid tactics started right after we all had a go at him over some "experiment" he ran out in a friendly.

the last friendly my plus hadn't been activated yet so I couldn't create a new tactic. I decided I'd like to play a 4-3-3 and used the previous 4-3-3 tactic left to me by the other coaches.

Bad idea because it must have been modified extremely for 1 game or something... :/

I'm gonna stick to making my own tactics
