Mr-Llama [del] naar Iedereen
need a win here to stay in the running

Nice win mate, hope my tactical advices also helped a bit :)
2011-11-19 18:46:10
About time! Well done. Need to win all games not against Poland now.

sometimes you outplay your opponent and the game takes a giant shit on your chest

at least we managed to get a win there but holy crap if that didn't deserve to be 5-0 I don't know what does

Edit: Mario: thanks for the tips. for the most part it was just general advice to use in the future but I fixed the strikers up a lot after that for this game and it worked wonders

??? the only game left is against Poland..........

only way to get trough is if Nederland beat Argentina and hope not to be blow out by Poland.

Differential goals will be essential

Argentina 3 points -2 GD
USA 3 points -3 GD
2011-11-19 20:42:54
yeah that's why I was hoping we could have scored many more of our easy breakaway and penalty kick chances but when you're playing 9 men and both starting strikers out, you take a win of any kind

and what do you mean hope to not be blown out by poland? We're gonna win that game, just need to take care of the GD incase argentina wins too. Sadly though we will be missing both cumberland and knowles in that game :/

you seem ungrateful or maybe reluctant to admit you used someone advice. I don't know, but you have never done yourself any favors when it comes to positive feedback to those who have tried to help you in the past. Has it gotten to the point only a foreigner will take the time to help you?

ungrateful? of course I'm grateful that he helped me out. I was just trying to point out that where he really helped me was with positioning of the strikers. I guess the only reason I sound reluctant to admit I asked for his advice is because I didn't want to hear the shitstorm of "oh wow you had mario make your tactic and you have no clue what you're doing as a coach." I made the tactic and my questions to mario were mostly general asking about high lines vs low lines (which he did help me decide on a higher line for this game) and positioning strikers better (which his advice had a large influence on how I lined up my tactic).

Mario, if you feel like I'm not grateful at all for your advice, I apologize for being rude and I am telling you now that your help was greatly appreciated and beneficial in our leading to success last game.

Llama out!
2011-11-19 22:50:47
see that's my point, admitting you actually used someones advice may actually help you, with some of us, looks at Fla....
2011-11-19 22:55:02
I didn't see anything rude or ungrateful in what you said.My part in this tactic was rather small and I think that just mentioning it is more than enough mate - I appreciate it.You know I'm always here if you want to discuss something.

And once again congratulations for the nice win today.
2011-11-19 22:57:28
dude you mentioned it first
2011-11-19 23:01:13
True - what I meant was admitting that it actually did have a certain positive influence, even though it was nothing special (my advice wasn't so important - I guess Llama would have won the match without it but giving me a little bit of the credit was definitely something I appreciate).

out of the blue thought

I think your advice gave us the tipping point to win because we did end up with 9 vs 11 and every 1 on 1 mattered in that game.

Plus it was just useful in general for all future games and gave me some new tactical knowledge. If you watch any of the previous NT games I have always had a little difficulty getting through balls to be super effective. Now I feel more confident in them.
