Alright well I would assume you just need to replace your power supply.
Are you getting any power (like it whirrs or anything) or is it straight up just not turning off. If the latter, just go buy a new power supply for it and change it out. you can find one for like $40

it could be the motherboard llama, before buy a new power supply I recommend to check the old one
u need to remove the power supply and check if it works fine, its easy u only need a voltmeter, I can post a video that explain how to do that or u can search in youtube, "remove power supply" and "power supply test", good luck

well yes check the power supply out first, i agree to that.
hopefully you didn't blow out the mobo, that's a lot more expensive and complicated to replace.

if the MB is new and the problem is the same it could be the power supply, and if the problem is different then just a bit of bad luck, anyway I recommend you to check the PS to see if it is the cause of the problem, its very easy you can do it yourself and you only need a voltmeter

Not sure what the problem is, but just in case make sure your PC is not on the floor, especially if it is a carpeted one. Happened to me with my first PC, and recently to a friend of mine.
eh being on the carpet shouldn't have much effect. the case will protect against static electricity.
now when you open the case, make sure you ground yourself (touch the metal case before touching anything else) and don't stand on carpet.
