Manager's comment:

USA will face a tough France team which, on paper, should easily win this one.But the boys are not ready to give up that easily - they'll fight until the last whistle for their pride and that will hopefully make them victorious.

Well the result was disappointing in the end just because we lost, but this was a really good result in the big scheme of things. I think we showed here that we can compete with the really good sides and if we do get out of the group we won't get embarrassed in the next stage.

I still can't believe Cumberland didn't finish that 75th minute chance, all he had to do was one touch it in the open goal from 3 yards out, a 4yr old takes that chance in real life, that's why I hate the Sokker engine sometimes, players are so freaking stupid.

Close game. Far much better than previous one. Do we lost 3rd from the offside?

I think the far side defender kept him on.

Alright, as I calm down I'm starting to see some positive sides.

1) The first two matches from the group are over.USA and England had the same 2 opponents and for now we're 3 points each, but we're +2 on goal difference.

2) Losing by just one goal to a highly ranked France can lead to us winning some precious ranking points.

you know what's hilarious

I told Fla in a text that I bet we lost the game because of Hale.

Then I watched the game and for the game-losing goal, Hale passed the ball backwards to their guy and blew the game.

Gilmore/Gibson playing in that spot and we tie or win the game.

That being said, very nicely done mate. from the basic look I Couldn't see how the tactic moved but it definitely pushed into dominating that one side and that's exactly what you had to do. Unlucky with the result, but that's the best you could do and when the shots are that even and good on both sides, it's just pure luck who gets more goals. Very impressive tactic, I know I did not give up the NT to a scrub :)

p.s. HALE SUCKS AND NOW YOU KNOW IT TOO
