Tomorrow's friendly is an under-20 fixture pitting the United States against one of their fiercest regional rivals, Mexico.
The Mexicans have been playing several of their fixtures this season with the under 20 roster limitation whereas the US has only played one game with any limits, the U20 +3 lineup they featured against India.
Clearly the Mexicans will have an advantage in that they've been there and done that several times and can shift gears comfortably. The United States on the other hand will face some difficult lineup decisions, some of which have no easy answer.
Where will the goals come from? How will the defense perform, particularly with one of the best 20yr olds, Goldstein, nursing an injury?
The midfield and goalkeeping are a strength according to many close followers of the squad, but those same experts point to a distinct drop-off in talent once you get past the senior players in other areas.
Yet the squad is coming in on a roll, morale and confidence are high after 2 straight wins and many of the younger squad members are itching to make a statement with this performance. Roster spots are up for grabs for next season's WC qualifying campaign and performances in this match will be the first opportunity for the youngsters to stake a claim for playing time.

It comes as no surprise that Michiganites have poor reading comprehension.
Well a poor result but no surprise really, a lot of the issues with the next generation of players were exposed, a little more dramatically than I would have hoped but it is what it is, the 20yr old forwards are a weak crop and we are not deep defensively at all.
The goals for Mexico were arguably lucky, a penalty and two high balls that the keeper failed to claim, but really our friends from south of the border deserved to take 3 points as we were never really able to generate anything going forward.
