The U21 World Cup Qualifiers will begin on Saturday. Our group is strong. We were drawn from the 3rd pot. First opponent will be Nicaragua U21, which changed its National Coach today. We want to win! Our best goalkeeper, who is injured, will not play. I hope this will be the only weakness of the team and no one will get injured again during this week.

We won today against Nicaragua U21 3:1 in the first match of the U21 World Cup Qualifiers. We had a definite advantage (16-2 shots). We played a 4-4-2 tactic with a left winger. The Man of the match was Anthony Simon (two goals and an assist). 18yo goalkeeper Butch Burke made his debut for the USA U21. Next week we will play against Colombia U21. This is a very strong opponent from the 1st pot, a quarterfinalist of the last World Cup U21.

On Saturday we lost to Colombia U21 0:1, a draw was close. An error by our goalkeeper decided the loss of the goal. We played a brave 4-4-2 with one defensive midfielder and one winger, because I was sure that the opponent would play 4 defenders and there would be space for the winger. Unfortunately, we didn't create many goal scoring opportunities. Our opponent's defense played a great match and made no mistake. In the last 10 minutes we switched to a 4-3-3 tactic, but the result did not change. Next Saturday we will play against Morocco U21 and this match we must win!

USA U21 - Al Maghrib U21 13:0

It was a one-sided match. Our strikers showed off very high efficiency. This is the highest victory since I have been leading the national teams. We played with a very offensive tactic of 433. Next week we will play against a much stronger opponent Malaysia U21.

Today we deservedly won against Malaysia U21 2:0. It was not an easy win, as we played in ten from the 44th minute after a red card for our defensive midfielder. I was prepared for this and his place on the pitch was filled by a striker. We went from a 4-3-3 formation to a 4-3-2 formation, and we scored two goals in the second half and won a very important match. Today will be my wedding day, so I treat this win as a gift :)

Yesterday, unfortunately, we lost against Cuba U21 0:3. Our opponent proved that the bronze medal in the last World Championships was not accidental. We lacked offensive strength. The defenders of the rivals did not allow our forwards many goal chances. After 5 games we are on the 3rd place in the table. Next week we will play a friendly match against Jamaica U21. I hope to win.

Yesterday we won against Jamaica U21 5:1. We were definitely the better team, we had many more goal situations and shots (27-3). Two goals each were scored by Anthony Simon and Herb Rice, while one goal was scored by Preston Buehler. On Saturday we will play against Cuba U21 in the World Cup Qualifiers. I hope we will play a much better game than in the first match against this team.

Today we achieved a great success - we won against the group leader Cuba U21 1:0! The hero of the match was our goalkeeper Wyatt Cheatham, who played flawlessly. The golden goal for our team was scored in the 76th minute from a penalty kick by Joseph Loughlin, who entered the field moments earlier. I would add that in the match against Cuba we played without two key midfielders, who are treating injuries. In that match I used a new 5-3-2 tactic created especially for the match against Cuba. This was Cuba's first defeat in an official match since the World Cup semifinals. I am happy. Next week we will play against Malaysia.

Today we deservedly won against Malaysia U21 3:0. We had as many as 17 shots in this match, while our opponent had zero, thanks to the excellent play of our defenders. In this match I used a new, very offensive 4-3-3 tactic, which was very effective. Malaysia played very aggressively, already in the first half they injured two of our players. We responded with goals: two goals and an assist were scored by Anthony Simon, while one goal was scored by Joseph Loughlin. This time the hero of the last match our goalkeeper Wyatt Cheatham did not even touch the ball :) This was our 3rd win in a row. Next week we will play against Morocco U21 and we will do our best to win another 3 points.

On Saturday, we won the match against Morocco U21 8:0. We played a very offensive tactic 4-3-3. Again, our goalkeeper had no work for the full match. The shooting statistics (34-0) show that only the USA U21 team played in this match. Every one of our strikers scored a goal. A hattrick was scored by Joseph Loughlin, two goals by Herb Rice, and one goal each by Preston Buehler and Anthony Simon. In addition, one own goal was scored by a Moroccan defender. Our central midfielder Butch Dixon, who scored as many as 3 assists, should also be praised. This Saturday, we face a very difficult match against a team from the first pot - Colombia U21 - quarterfinalist of the last U21 World Cup.
