well you know the old saying...easiest place to get sick is in a hospital.

fortunately for me, I'm doing OK, but my journey isn't over yet. Later on this summer I'm having another major surgery to remove my old kidney, because it is massive. Probably 10 lbs. Most likely another laparotomy. If anyone's curious, google PKD kidneys, but don't do it unless you have an empty stomach...

I cannot agree more. Hospitals are full of immunocompromised people stuck next to people with rare infections all the time.

From what I have seen people with nephrectomies are fairly comfortable and recover well post surgery.
